TOB and Clutch advice needed
Greetings to all,
My car has just under 50,000 miles (yes that would be 50K!) and when I took it to let someone test drive it the TOB decided to squeal like a stuck pig. It had been chirping off and on before but now it is really vocal.
I had the trans replaced 20k miles ago due to a TOB guide tube failure and they put in a new (not rebuilt) trans. I have the part number and wondered if it already has the new TOB tube design or the old one.
FORD has agreed to cover the TOB and I am probably going to put a new FFRP clutch and P/PLate in it while they have it apart. If it needs the updated tube I would like to have the TSB done at the same time. I am also thinking about and aftermarket clutch kit as well.
D&D has a McCleod twin disc for around 300 and CF has one for around 450.
I do not have a clue as to which way to go.
Here is what was fixed when the trans was replaced.
Causal Full Part Number Part Part
Flag PREF BASE SUFF Description CPSC Quantity
N 3R3V 7550 AARM DISC ASY-CLUTCH 030001 1
N 2R3V 7563 AARM PLATE & COVER-P 030001 1
N F7ZZ 7548 AA HUB & BRG ASY-CLUTCH 080102 1
Y 2R3Z 7003 AB TRANS ASY-LESS CNVTR 070300 1
N XT 2 QDX MOTORCRAFT BATTERY NANANA 4
N XR3Z 9450 AA GSKT-EXH MANIF/MFLR 090302 1
If this does not tell us then what should I look for?
I did get the TSB# from another memeber (thanks!) and am just trying to get my ducks in a row before the dealer takes the car apart.
I have it listed in the Market Place right now but wont sell it until it is right.
(long post with pics)
Thanks in advance
Paul
