i love when they come to america; clarkson bags on us like no other. lol. i think hammond is the only one that likes our cars.

Saying they hate american cars is simply wrong.
Clarkson loves the viper, C6, C6 ZO6, ZR1, old mustangs, S197 Roush.. It's just that most american cars don't really work in Europe, and they haven't been build with much attention to detail or handling like most European cars. And in that, they're absolutely right actually. I should know, since I've had lots of american cars and live in Europe. I still prefer them because of their uniqueness, but I completely agree with what the trio has to say on american cars.

You have to bear in mind that when an american car is brought to Europe, it ends up costing equally much or these days (thanks to CO2) even more then their european counterparts. Now I'm sorry, but if someone has the choice between a V8 vantage or a Z06, I completely understand that they prefer the Aston. Or Jag, or whatever. American cars are build with less quality and care, but are in exchange therefor cheap, IN AMERICA!.
To give you an example, a new SS camaro or '10 GT mustang will set you back around $90.000 right now, here in Holland. Look at what you could buy with that kinda money from Germany!

Well you have to like british humor at least somewhat, and not take it personally when they make fun of the US. Remember, they make fun of everyone equally, so its all good.

They say on several occasions that they absolutely LOVE Ford vehicles. They do not hate American cars, you have to remember the show is mainly for comedy and Americans are easy to poke fun at. Don't really see why people get pissy about it, i think its funny as hell.
Clarkson and company are "royal" American ball-busters...which make the show really funny. But, you know they love America Muscle...deep down-in-side. Frankly, the whole Clarkson vs. Ford GT fiasco was priceless...almost like Ford planned the whole deal. Too bad they didn't make good on that one in time.
