What is the top speed in 4th gear for a car on stock tires with stock gears - assuming everything is tuned, aligned, and inflated correctly?

I thought the faster you go, the less accurate your speedo? That might explain some peeps seeing 140 and others 134, 135, etc.

Potty Tang posted a pick of the run as well. :rollseyes

U also got to put in affect the aero on our cars at that type of speed.

I know my speedo was off, so maybe some folks have more accurate speedo's vs others.

There used to be a chart/graph floating around here that listed the top speeds for each gear. I believe it was listed as 140 mph@ 6,500 rpms on a stock setup. Might try searching, it should still be floating around somewhere.

We just had 15 '03 Cobras dynoed a couple of weeks ago. Ranged from stock to 460rwhp. The range at the top of 4th for ALL the cars that I saw was 128mph to 134mph. And that's on the dyno, not taking into account areodynamics.

I did 130 at 6000 rpm's in 4th gear last week while racing a sport bike. I have been told by others that 140 is at the limiter in fourth.

Shouldn't matter on a dyno or not. Aerodynamics should have nothing to do with gear ratio.

I think that's the point that hssss03 was making...
