Hey currently I'm still on good years and don't have the money for a proper new set of tires. Now I came across some slightly used Toyo R888 in 295/30/18 for a really good price and was wondering if I can run those on my 18" stock rims and if it's ok to keep the good years up front for now?
Stock gear btw.

Thanks

I am thinking you own a 07 - 09 because of your 18" rim and the factory tire height is 27.1". Toyo 295 30 18 is 25" tall.
Loosing 2" of height in the rear is not ideal the way I see it. For that reason the 295 30 18 is not suitable.

It'll look silly, hook way harder, and run harder (shorter rear tire=more gearing). You're call but not sure what the 2" difference will do to the handling, among other things

I bought my 07 Shelby this past Feb and it came with the stock 18s all around. Tires up front were the stock F1s but the rears had Toyos R888s 305/30. To me it didn't look bad at all and in fact it looked badass while standing behind the car. Also I am not a fan of tires that stick way out beyond the fenders so if I thought it looked good then you most likely would be ok with it.

I have 295/30/18 on the rear of my car. I will be honest that I do not like the way they look with the stock size tires up front from the side. The fronts fill out the wheel well but the rears don't. But they are all I could get without dropping down to a 275. Mine are not toyo's either but mine still handles great when I want to push it going around turns and hooks fine on a warm day other than 1st gear.

This is the only good picture I have of my car from the side. But you can notice the gap in the rear.

Guess another good question to ask is it the car is lowered? Mine is dropped and the 305s fit the rear well pretty good. I just really wanted the supersnake wheels I had nothing against how it looked on my car.

Thanks everyone especially for the pic. I will just have to save a little longer and get new ones in 305.

The first number "295 or 305" has nothing to do with the height of the tire. In fact, it's only the width in millimeters. So a 295/30/18 (24.97" tall and 11.61" wide) and 305/30/18 (25.2" tall and 12" wide). I would consider 305/40/18 (27.6" tall 12" wide).

In any tire's size the middle number, in this case OPs 295/30R18 30 indicates the percent of the tread width that is the height of the sidewall. A 30 profile tire is an extremely thin sidewall on damn near any road going tire. 305/40r18 or 305/45r18.

For my car, I went with a spare set of AMR wheels that were 18x10. This allowed me to go with a drag radial in 305/45r18 and still be very close to the factory outer tire diameter.
