I just ordered my toyo tq's yesterday
Good thing I only have 500rwhp
I have read mixed review as you would expect from every tire
some say they last long and some say they don't
some say they hook some say they don't

At your power level the TQs will be worthless. I have the 315/35/18s and they have 500 miles on them and are almost shot, if you have a pulled eaton they would probably work, but I am just going back to the Thompsons like I should have before buying the TQs. The R888s do look badass, but I have no experience with them.

Lol that's not good! With my winter mods, I should be knocking on 800hp.
But I'd like to get a nice drag radial with sidewall.

LordVader is pretty accurate. I liked my TQ's when I had a pullied eaton making around 450 rwhp. They hooked and got great traction but after putting a 2.2 on and making 600 to the wheels I'm not so happy with them anymore, even at lower pressures for street use.

My point is a 315 and a 335 tire will have the same amount of contact patch on the road with the same width rim. If that wasn't fact everyone would still be running the stock 17x9 rims out back and squeezing a 335 on it...

Best post in this thread so far.....you are throwing money away buying 335's, especailly on a 10.5 wheel, bulge city
To each their own

I hate seeing guys get their hopes up and then are let down when there is no added performance because of obvious physics.

Hopefully your toyo's with 500 hp hook better than my Mickey's with 440hp? lol

We'll find out though wont we?

I agree and I will go as far as to say that the 315 is too big. I have gone thru two sets of the 315's and I think next time I will go with the 305/35/18 for a better fit and increased sidewall and diameter.

This is good. Toyo's run wide, so the 305/35/18 will actually fit on an 18x11 wheel also.

Yes if you look up the specs the messure the tread and section widths on 11" rims. The 305 is only a 1/10" smaller in both but over 3/4" bigger in diameter.

and I plan to run that exact size on an 18x11 wheel come spring

I have the 305/35 on my 18x11 Forgestar F14's. Fits perfect!!! It's a taller tire than the 315 as well. Gives a much better stance in my opinion.

The tread grooves are actually pretty deep. I've put about 5k on mine so far. I purchased the car with them installed already.

The few crappy things about these tires. You really need to run the same ones up front if you plan on driving aggressive in twisties. Previous owner put NT555's on the front and I took it out auto-crossing and the car pushed like a son of a bitch. I mean PUSHED. It was like I didn't have a steering wheel. They are also VERY LOUD between 30-45mph.

i ran these tires on my 88 coupe that was making about 650 to the wheels. loved them. hooked up nice on the street and track. not to mention they look awesome. personally i think they are a very well rounded tire especially for street cars. soft enough to hook, firm enough for the twisties, can handle the rain and they last. ill definitely will be looking at another set front and rear when my falken azenis (on car when i bought it) wear out.

I'm also running the 305/35 r888 on an 18x11 and it fits great, perfect contact patch

that looks awesome! i have some 18x11 ccw classics with a 315 30 18 falken azenis and im not fond of the width or height, i want more sidewall. ill be switching to the r888 305 35 when the time comes. not to mention they handle much better
