Some of my friends and I are heading out to the local 1/8th mile track tomorrow night. Two Cobras and two turbo fox body coupes. Last year my car ran the best of an 8.04@89 at this track. Mods were open air filter, shifter, and drag radials. Going back now with a Built Solid Axle with 3.73, JLT Carbon Fiber RAI, and no Cat-Back. Still on drag radials. Hoping to be in the 7.80 range. No pulley and stock H-pipe.
Track Bound Tomorrow. Predictions?

Hoosier 335/35R17's on 17X10.5 Cobra Replica Wheels. My stock clutch is going to hate me!
Knowing how you drive Justin and with that solid rear w/ 3.73's, I'm going to say 7.75 ET. Any other weight reduction?

Nah Dwight no weight reduction besides the Solid Axle. Haven't weighed the car since the swap so not sure how much it weighs right now. Still full interior. Even got the spare and jack.
My best pass of the night was a [email protected]. I was happy with the outing since the last time I was in the seat was November.

sorry I didnt get to watch any of you guys run. We were chasing issues with nitrous. First pass it hit out of the hole then fell flat running a 6.91@102 with a 1.45 60'

But, very nice. You missed 2nd on purpose so that I wouldn't be right with the 7.75 prediction! What drag radials and launch technique?
I was on Hoosier 335/35R17 Drag Radials on my 10.5in. Replica Wheels. I was just feathering the throttle between 3500-4000 rpms and trying to slip the clutch a little. I tried to launch a lot harder once but the result was wheel spin. My next goals for the car are some small suspension upgrades and possilby a clutch. The car only has 4200 miles on it but it has 40+ passes on drag radials. It's starting to slip a little. I also need to go ahead and upgrade to a 26-spline input shaft before I break this one.
Here is a couple vids of fri night. As it turns out my nitrous never hit. Spun the first pass and bogged the second pass. I was expecting the nitrous to hit or both passes would have been better.
