Well I just pulled the trans out of my car today.
Turns out its been pulled before.
My question is
Is there a way to determine if its the original trans.
By matching numbers that are on the trans to the vin or something else?

This very question came up a couple of years ago. And if I remember right, the answer was that you couldn't tell if the factory transmission was replaced other than through records/Carfax/Oasis or a visual inspection.

That's what it seems to me.
I am replacing it with a new T56.
If it was the original I was going to keep it.
But since there is no way to determine that it is the original then I'm just going to sell it.

Ya Ford does not do matching numbers for engines or transmissions. The most a dealer would be able to help you with is to cross the tag number in a part lookup versus what is on the engine or transmission.
