I got this cobra around a month ago. I was told its just a pullied car with a cat back and a CAI. The more i look at things its not adding up. It appears to be a stock upper (measured 3.25"), the lower still has the ford stamp and def appears to be OEM. If you can help me figure out whats actually done id appreciate it. BTW i got an actual dyno sheet sent from Anderson Ford(called them and they actually had a copy of it from when they sold the car\ tuned it on the dyno....was kind of shocked). it made 462 rwhp and 464 ft lbs of tq.
Here are a few pics from under the hood of what im talking about. the car shows on the boost gauge that im pushing 11lbs just shy of 12. It does have a magnaflow cat back on it. the rest you can see in the pics is all i know

Definitely a stock lower. That's not a stock upper. That's also an aftermarket snub idler next to it. All other idlers are stock. You don't measure the upper pulley from outside to outside. It's measured from high of rib to high of rib. Basically where the belt rides. It's probably a 3.1 pulley.

Ditto on that not being a stock upper. It has an auxiliary idler which is used with smaller uppers.

You said that you measured the upper pulley and it measured 3.25". Did you remove the bolt in order to measure the pulley across the middle? I would more expect that pulley to be 2.93" or 3.1" making the (SAE) power level on that dyno sheet.

Oops! I see I paused too long to post this. Earico beat me to it. LOL!

on a 3.1 would the blower most likely be ported to make those numbers? or is it possible with out. I just see others on here in the sigs and have what seems to be alot more done yet make basicly the same power as me.

lol same as with my reply. So as i stated, that should be about right power wise for the pulley and set up then. I shouldnt expect to have anything hidden that i cant see? Im so skeptical because of all the things this car has, like the dang fire extinguisher mounted to the drivers seat motor, the permanently wired in radar detector to the front and rear bumper of the car. I just dont see the fire extinguisher being something you put in your dd lightly modded weekend cruiser. LOL

Id say your on par or slightly above for catback, rai, 2.9 pulley and tune...if its a 3.1 your slightly ahead imo

Maybe the dude was a firefighter.. :dw: :lol1:

It's the joy of a used Cobra. Sometimes you find diamonds and sometimes coal.

So you have a k40 built in? Nice. Make sure it has all the latest bands. I had one years ago and it was very accurate. Do you have leds in the dash that blink when it goes off? One should be for front and one for rear.

I couldnt tell you the model or brand, its got a little module that rests on the drivers side sun visor that has the leds and where you can switch from highway to city and all that crap. still a tiny little thing though. Idk if it has the latest bands...i have a brand new windshield mounted one in my DD that i can use if its not updated. I just dont know how to update it.

Sometimes these cars are demodded (completely or partially) before a sale. No real way of knowing whether yours was unless you know the seller. Agreed that a fire extinguisher can be a sign of track activity, but not guaranteed. Sometimes people just like to be prepared. You car photo looks like the mods you're seeing are probably all that were done.
Catback (does it have the stock midpipe?)
Intake (looks like a Steeda RAI with an Anderson Ford sticker; I know they made a CAI but I'm not aware of an RAI)
Lethal Performance coolant reservoir
Aftermarket upper pulley
Aftermarket auxiliary idler

I don't see evidence of any other mods.

^^ What Bob said and you have OEM injectors. But that doesn't mean that someone wasn't super thorough in their demodding. It's hard to say. Most likely Bob is right. Most of the parts I see on your car are older parts. Like someone modded it not too long after buying it and that's the way it's been ever since.

And judging by how dirty the engine bay is, it's likely the owner didn't pop the hood again after those mods, either. :lol1: :poke:

8urLS, once the weather warms up and you can get to the engine bay, you'll be amazed at how bigger your smile will then get.

I have the same ugly ass upper pulley on my car, mine measured 3.125 and I still don't know what brand it is lol. I can't wait to swap it out. Definitely made VERY good power for the mods, kind of suspicious.
