Summer of 18 as a 19 model is much better time table.

So food for thought: If Ford releases another GT500 model on the S500 platform as a 2019 model, would all the R&D and testing be worth it to Ford for a single year run? New body style refresh is due out in 2020, and if Ford were to want to continue any "GT500" production, it would be double the work, testing, and R&D to release two separate platforms of a GT500. Essentially you would have a 2019 GT500 that went through years of work, then a whole new model of GT500 in 2020 which I'm certain would take years of work as well. So Ford is building and designing two models of GT500? Assuming one will be released.
Just playing devils advocate.
The next gen mustang is slated to be released in 2020, meaning it'll be a 2021 model year. If a GT500 were released as a 2019, that means it'll be a 2 year run (2019/2020).So food for thought: If Ford releases another GT500 model on the S500 platform as a 2019 model, would all the R&D and testing be worth it to Ford for a single year run? Assuming one will be released.

I agree completely. It's either they do it this year, or they don't at all in my opinion. Not worth it for one year. Dep's story makes a lot more sense. It's also in line with the 755 easter egg via Ford.
Thanks for the updates.
My dad has a first year '67 GT500 so I was hoping for a 50th model.
Like I said before, I still think this is too big for Ford to pass, they'll sneak in a late short run of 2017s if they doing one. Or maybe a 50th 2018 GT500KR

So,........what kind of "development issues"?It will be this year...they are past their original release date because of development issues, so getting out this year won't be hard at all.
Thanks.Hard starting and oil consumption...I've mentioned it already in previous posts.
It is a 5.0 engine though, correct? I heard talks of the 5.2 engine. No worries, just mentioning that so you don't think I just made it up is all
Do you know of any HP/TQ numbers?Yes, 5.0 I don't know where the 5.2 talk came from, lol.
..a summer 18 limited release like the GT350 and a full release this fall for MY 18 is very easy given the length of development now.
