Most probably opt for the upper pulley because of cost and ease of install.

also, because I did not want to shave off anything on the motor. Apparently you have to grind down the crank sensor mount in order to run the 10% lower (not sure how much). Also the 15% lower, which will not work on track pack cars without re-routing some lines

I thought you only needed to grind to fit the 15% lower?

10% usually fits with no issues

15% requires the grind

For just basic bolt on's which a lot of guys prefer, upper pulley for me with a gates belt

How much grinding is necessary?

You have to grind for a 10%. THe 10% pulley will fit, but you'll never get a belt in there. So that's basically what you're clearance for. I learned the hard way...

My main thought about doing the 10 lower was belt grip. but also, the negative was heavier, larger, and it overdrives ALL the accessories it runs. Not just the supercharger.

the upper. it's lighter, smaller, and only overdrives the supercharger.

Now if I think about it. I'm not sure if I made the right choice?

I know the lower makes more torque but how significant is the torque/horsepower on the lower vs the upper?

Where's the choice for both? ;-)
I like the SFI lower as a foundation, love my 15%.

I thought the 10% lower was lighter than the factory pulley (depending on which 10% you get) and the accessory belt was separate and doesn't get overdriven like the supercharger?
