I am currently in the process of searching for a computer for my car. My current computer part number is cr3a-12a650-afa with a recent reflash update of afc. I do have access to a Ford reprogramming tool so that I can flash the computer to my car.

This being said, what do I need to be looking for in a computer? Im trying to get a used one as they are significantly cheaper. My car is a 2012 Mustang Gt with an automatic.

Do i need to get an exact part number match or will any ecm from a 12 auto work?

I believe any 2011/12 auto PCM should be okay. 13/14 as well if you flash your as built data I think... I'm 75% sure lol but this is always a gray area that people doing trans swaps and gauge cluster swaps have to go through

order it by a dealer based on your vin, thats what i would recommend
