Mr. Kelly, after speaking with you in PM's and reading this thread, how much would one benefit from having the BMR uca mount with the adjustability? Everything else is BMR(adj poly upper, poly lowers, brackets and panhard), so if I would benefit from it, I'll install when when I pull the rear to weld the tubes. Car is lowered on P-springs (~1.25").

Will it help plant the rear to help the 60'?

It will not benefit you much, in terms of promoting more traction.

On a lowered car, the lower mounting point on our UCA is typically not recommended (by me) - as I prefer the AS/IC to be adjusted with the LCA.

On a stock ride-height car, the lower hole in our mount does wonders.

When someone chooses these components, on a lowered car - I still recommend them purchasing and installing the UCM002 Upper Mount, simply because it will reduce the movement within the UCA system. The stock Upper Mount's hole for the UCA bolt is substantially larger than the bolt itself.

Notice the slop in the picture below on the stock Mount, compared to the BMR Mount. Also notice, the marks on the inside of the mount, on the stock piece, where the factory style sleeves "dig" into the mount, to prevent clunking. The aftermarket parts do not have the same style sleeves, so they do not "dig" into the stock mount, and prevent movement/clunk.

Thanks! One question, the roush upper system comes preassembled from the factory with a certain preload on the bushing, is it already setup correctly for my application or do I need to loosen and reposition it?

The roush unit is bolt in and go...it can handle cars lowered to a max of 1.25 inches, it even comes with the big main bolt you get at from under the rear seat!

I appreciate the info Mr. Kelly. I'll probably purchase the mount since I'll have the rear out anyway. That way, I'll have no worries.

Good to hear! No "sneak peak"?

And, a company the size of WL, doesn't powder coat their parts themselves? What exactly do you do over there in California. :poke:

Looking forward to seeing the new design.

Sorry no we don't do any powdercoating; the industrial area we're at is surrounded by companies that service aerospace and aviation industry; I have 5 powdercoaters within a 10 minute walk. The space required for the salt spray and corrosion treatment alone is more than ideal for California real estate prices :cryying:

WHITELINE UCA dropping in a few days, they were dropped off at powdercoat earlier this week. I'll try to update everyone with images within the next 48 hours.

Its funny this whole scenario has showed not just us but many others the characteristics of a quality company. This has been a humbling experience and we look forward to many years of innovation. Perhaps we should write a tested to destruction blog one day or results from metallurgy x-rays. Who knows..... :)

Hey everyone,

I wanted to bump this thread with very promising news! Whiteline recently contacted us about their revised UCA and sent us a sample of the finished product. This new Whiteline UCA benefits from a thicker steel and additional bracing to endure whatever you can throw at it. I think you guys will be very pleased with updated UCA.

Whiteline has a large shipment of these revised UCA's headed our way, too. Starting no later than 10/17/2013, all of our Whiteline UCA's will be swapped out for the revised version!

Also, I took some cell pics of the revised UCA, so you guys get a sneak peak!

Shane
