So it gained a MASSIVE 86 pounds!!! The sky is falling!! The 6 only gained 3 pounds. I wonder where all the weight in the GT is coming from....the monster brakes maybe? The ecoboost on e85 with a turbo upgrade will be VERY interesting! With the massive gain in width and the addition of the IRS and HUGE brakes I'd say that's a great job. It's now a world class 400+ HP car that will stop and handle with the best of them. Well done by Ford with the flagship IMO.

Ecoboost weight FTW. Base model, light weight wheels, and a few other weight reduction mods. Could be a 3,300lb car.

Interesting how the Auto transmission is lighter vs MT on the Ecobost, 3 lbs heavier on a V6 but 23lbs heavier on the GT vs the MT. Wonder if they're gonna offer different trannys across the board.

It will be interesting to see the limits the ecoboost will pushed to with the after market.

That's the meal ticket for a handler Imo.

You get the lower weight car, the modability of the turbo 4 (factory forged like most turbo 4s),and yet you get all the suspension and aftermarket that comes with the mass produced mustang. I think the 2.3L EB is going to hurt some feelings in the coming years. It'll take a bit to catch a coyote but it'll be cheaper so you'll see an aftermarket for that engine develop like the dsm/evo, srt4 or sti/wrx markets and knowledge base.

What will be great about the 2.3 also is it will be a shared power plant with the next RS. Not that everything will be interchangeable but that's two different groups of enthusiasts developing parts that could be shared!

See now, not so bad. Will that really have a measurable influence on the vast majority of buyers?

The -300/+300 folks were all smoking some crack lol.

So....
After you chuck the spare, jack, back seat, incredibly heavy factory power seats, and the other easy to yank crap it should be right at 3300 pounds:burnout:
