Weights bolted to axle housing

Hi all. I was underneath my '13 Boss and noticed the little weights bolted to the end of the axle housing, by the LCA mounts. They aren't big, but they are uglying up my axle, and any weight loss is good. I know this was mentioned in another thread, but I'm having trouble finding it. Does anybody know if there is any downside to removing these? Thanks for any help!

They are actually noise dampers believe it or not. You can remove them with no adverse issues, but may have a bit more NVH

They felt like they were 3lbs or so, My dealership gave me grief about removing those... But then again that was at the same time they tried to refuse the warranty on my passenger seat motor due to my cat back :bs:

I have read they are just under 5lbs a piece. Easy way to cut 9+lbs off the car

i took mine off, i imagine they are there for a reason but oh well. find a new dealer also.

Thanks guys. They are getting removed tomorrow when I install new LCAs.
