Six year Vet here.
I joined in 2002 at the kickoff of the war, I remember the look on my mothers face before I hopped on that plane.
I can only imagine a precious daughter whom you raised.
Couldn't have joined a better service. (well maybe) Will keep her, your wife and you in our thoughts and prayers. Thank her for her service and thank you for you and your wife's support. It means a lot.
Just noticed the irony of my post count for this particular post... 911:-D
it's natural for a parent to be worried...but you can take some comfort knowing she'll probably never set foot off the FOB. do you know what her MOS is?
I know it's very hard, Rick, watching her leave. But your pride in her service to her country coupled with her desire to do this, should make it a tad easier. I will be praying for her. I know she'll be fine. And just imagine the emotional high when she returns. She's doing her country and her parents proud!
