Its main purpose for me was to vent heat, and reduce lift.

Its helped in high speed sweepers, but I just meant that the weight wasn't the biggest factor. There is some stuff about the Boss 302S development on youtube where they go into more detail about how this particular hood helped during the car's aero package development.
