Were spoilers an option?

I found a red 2001 Cobra with no spoiler. Did the owner have it removed? was it maybe a custom option? The carfax on it is clean and the car does not seem to have ever been damaged in the rear.

I think there was a factory delete option. But it's also possible the PO either had the holes filled or swapped deck lids with a V6.

I picked up a junkyard trunk lid (mine was drilled to hell from the previous owner mounting a Saleen replica), had the holes filled, and the entire thing painted.

It's not all that uncommon, and it was a factory option.
