it almost looks like a plate for a second set of injectors. or maybe a nitrous injection plate idk, those are my 2 guesses.
Looks like some kind of single fuel rail that feeds all 8 injectors? Just a guess.
I bet you guys are right. I don't see injectors on the outside, but what are the cylinder looking things? And what is that sensor?
That looks to be a throttle position sensor.
Code red has dual injectors so most likely something to do with that.
Now that you mention it, I don't see any throttle body in their pictures.
Notice the redesigned intake manifold in their other pictures. It's a single fuel rail setup to go in the intake manifold valley. I would imagine they are attempting to get a straighter shot on the intake port.
A local guy found a photo of another engine they made that's more revealing.
There must be a linkage of some sort that goes from that TPS sensor to the internal throttle body.

it's the primary fuel rail and then the secondary that holds a second set of injectors. most of nelson's cars have two fuel tanks- one for 91 oct and one for C16. so the car utilizes two sets of injectors for different boost levels.
