SVTP ballers that buy cars using cold hard cash need not apply. :smmon:

Anyway, just curious what type of payments most people on here have on their cars. List your current or past payments, term and rates. Also if you have payments on any other toys like bikes, atvs, jetskis, sleds...etc.

i'll start...

past ride
2001 Svt Lightning = $615/mo, 48mos (interest rate was double digit being a first purchase with not much credit history), traded this on the Fx2

2012 f-150 fx2 5.0L supercrew = $475/mo, 72mos, 2.25% paid off :dancenana:

toys
2009 Yamaha raptor 700r = $170/mo, 60mos, paid off years ago

I really don't think a lot of people will chime in on this one.

You paid $10,200 for your Raptor? :dw:

My 2007 GT is $201 a month for 3 years. I traded my 149,000 mile 1996 Cobra in on it and the dealership gave me $5000 for it towards this car. I've never had credit prior to getting this car which is one reason why I did it so I could build my credit

I'll chime in once I get home and can look up the information. I only know rough numbers.

First Cobra was $25k and I financed every last thin gilder. I was just out of college and thought I was a big shot. I learned that I couldn't afford it and an apartment and go out all the time. Ended up selling it and drove an old junker I had year round.

Current Cobra was $415/mo. Financed about half, paid off in 2 years. Edge is $444/mo @ 0% so I'm taking my sweet time paying this off. Grand Prix paid in cash. Ideally any new car payments are less than $450/mo.

I'm doing the math on a 2016 Explorer Sport. If I can find one gently used with low miles, I can get about $15k in equity from the Edge and throw in another $8k and the payments should be relatively the same.

Straight cash homie. I haven't had a car payment since '09. Doesn't mean I'm out buying 50k new cars with cash, just means I hate car payments.

23k down and still have 444 payments? Wow expensive! They are nice but not worth it at all. Buy a new mkc for mid 30's. Finance 20 and you should be 300 a month with a decent if not 0 rate.

Having two incomes helps. None of our vehicles are exactly upper echelon either

$302 a month on my 4Runner for another year. Bought it a couple years ago for $16,500 and since I have connections I secured a 1.99% APR on the loan with only $1000 down.

mine was roughly $8K when we bought it new 700RSE. My kid had beat the shit out of it. Ripped the front suspension off of it twice. Thank God for ebay and used parts.

And OP, the dealers pay me to take the cars.

the rate was so ridiculously low that i put 0 down on it then paid it off in about half the time. So the interest i paid much less than the terms suggested.

It was advertised as $6,999 but after tax, title, doc fees, shipping/assembly and other BS dealer charges it ended up being $8kish out the door. It was an emotional purchase at the time. My previous raptor that i bought brand new for $4,900 was stolen right off my truck. Geico cut me a check for full value and at the time i could not replicate the deal i got on my first one. I hate thiefs :fm:

It would be about $950k assuming an 8% rate of return

If you know a way of getting a constant 8% like clock work year after year for over 2 decades please let me know. There has been a lot of multiple year stretches where the S&P 500 produce 0 real gains. Just big swings up and big swings down.
