I'll start, and since alot of us don't necessarily set up our cars for Drag racing i think trap speed is a better indicator of a car's potential. chime in and modify to your opinion. This is for STREET cars. full interior etc....

TRAP SPEED:

80MPH and below= Slow
80-90MPH= Average
90-100MPH= Quick
100-110MPH= Fast
110-120MPH= Hauling ass
120-130MPH= Smokin'
130-140MPH=F**kin' fast
140-150MPH=F**kin' Hauling ass
150-160MPH=Rediculous street car
160MPH+= Should not be on the street

i'd say you have it covered pretty well. When all is said and done I would like my car to trap in the 135 range.

Fast to me would be something that can trap 125 or better.
Quick would be 105.
Anything lower is just eh.
This is my opinion, don't take offense.

It's all relative depending on what you start with..But your guide is pretty..umm..vauge.. but I know what your getting at.
Obviously an NA stock dispacement Honda civic that traps 100+ will have the driveability of an NA 5.7 LS1 F Body that traps in the 120+ range..
But in places where serious street racing still goes on(non posuers) a 120+ trap speed car of any brand is border-line competitive..& the trap speed price of admission has gone up steadily over the last 10-15 years..around the year 2000..120 MPH cars were king shit in most places..Now its more like 130-140...
But if your not out trying to show your **** every saturday night out on the mean streets..A high 13 second /100 mph car is more than adequate when compared to flow of traffic when you need to simply do things like pass on a 2 lane road or merge on the interstate.

Someone on this board once said that stock Terminators "aren't fast." OTOH, I think a lot of ricers are born when they go from an old Buick or Oldsmobile to something like a Civic LX manual which, when winding it out would seem fast compared to what they drove before. My first car was an '81 Cutlass wagon, my second an '88 Saab 9000 Turbo. While the 9000T was very fast for its day, it sure isn't by today's standards, yet to my not-quite-19 year old self that baby screamed when I dropped the hammer.

In short, get used to a dragster on afterburner and it's going to seem slow. Get used to a 54 horsepower '67 Beetle and then go to a Chevy Aveo and the Aveo's going to be speed incarnate.

IMHO... 110 and under doesnt get much consideration as fast, just cause of what some of the new cars are coming with off the factory assembly line and bolt ons will get them well into the 110-120mph range. 120-130 is considered fast, 130+ is baller status as a street car... i make it kind of vague, but you have to consider that its not all about trap speed, because i know for a fact that some auto terminators run 9s and dont break into the 130 trap range (although they are close)

again its all about how the car is set up, so the only way to really settle the dispute is just go race and see what the results are

this is something that will vary among everyone, but it is the best way to compare how cars will match up in a race
