I think GM is already doing this. Friend of ours just bought some GMC something something… who ****ing cares… and they had to take it back in to get a chip installed a few months after purchase.
What choice does Ford have, other than to do this? I wouldn't be thrilled buying a vehicle that is missing parts, but I guess if the discount is good enough compared to the temporary inconvenience, customers will accept it for the most part. JMO.
