The weekend before last when I was changing the oil on the Cobra a neighbor was walking around the neighborhood with his kids. I'd say the oldest is 2, maybe 3. He was telling me how his son loves Mustangs and he's not sure where it came from. But he sees the horse and tail lights and goes crazy. I let him sit in the Cobra and dad took a picture of course. I told the neighbor anytime I have the Cobra out of the garage and they're outside hit me up and I'll take him for a spin around the block. Fast forward to last Saturday and I'm getting home from a cars and coffee and that neighbor is over talking to my son. I pulled up and asked if his kids was ready for his ride. I don't think my neighbor thought I was serious because he seemed surprised. He asked his son if he wanted to go for a ride and his son dropped his bike and ran over. I just took him around the block, but he was smiling the whole time. Another gear head in the making.
That’s cool man, nice work.

Can’t wait to see it painted as I never liked the previous owner I got it from matte blacked the underside to match his engine bay. It really showed how the dust accumulates under the hood as you can see the place the snout of the supercharger sits.
I honestly never thought to look for the ford markings under the hood when I sent you pictures lol; I forgot they were marked from ford.
I think LMR was making reproduction under-hood insulation but it appears they have stopped. I haven’t seen one with the modified vents before but don’t see why it would be a big problem.

I might have it painted sooner rather than later. I contacted the body shop I use and they said they may be able to fit me in and give me a good deal. So, I may have them paint it for me in a few weeks.

Yeah, I've been looking for the under hood insulation, but have not found one. Hell, some guy is asking $450 for a used POS one on Ebay. CRAZY!!! I don't want one that bad LOL.

I'll post pictures as soon as I get it painted.

Thanks again Dale! Really appreciate you reaching out and helping me out!

I don't have a problem not installing the insulation and running a painted underside.

However, I really like the insulation because it says COBRA on it. Always thought that was a cool touch.

Why not paint COBRA on the underside? You could even do it in the checker/flag pattern to tie the entire car together!

Man, you got that right Dale. When I went to pick the hood up, I-10 south of Phoenix it was bumper to bumper traffic. I had never seen it like that before. Last year, when I was headed to LA to shoot my 65, as I was leaving Phoenix on I-10 it was bumper to bumper coming in to Phoenix.

And both times there were no accidents. Just a ton of people trying to get to Phoenix.

Screw that S#!T!!! LOL.

That is a good suggestion. However, due to my design and current usage level I have to be careful it doesn't become too much or tacky. Yeah, I know, some would say it's already tacky LOL, but I don't think so. I think it's right at the limit of tasteful mod. And there is nothing checkered in the interior.

As of now I have the checkered pattern on the body itself, the running horse emblem in the grill, the SVT lettering in my under trunk cover, my NOS bottle and my cold air intake. I think putting the checkered pattern in COBRA lettering under the hood would be a bit much. I know it may be funny hearing this from me, but I never really liked under hood airbrushed art. A lot of folks have had the Cobra snake airbrushed under the hood and I just never liked it.

This is why I wanted the under hood insulator as it has the COBRA lettering, but it is very subtle.

Is the nitrous hooked up!? I want more details on that!

I loved nitrous. Had it on my 01 GT for a bit. It’s a ton of fun.

Today was an easy day. My buddy gave me a pair if LED back up lights so I swapped them in today since one of mine was out. While I was there I rewired the fuel pumps so they prime like stock again. It was one of those projects I kept putting off but I'm glad I finally did it.

Sometimes I wish I bought black instead of OW. That color looks so good on these cars.
Black is beautiful Todd. But I think you did well going with OW. Black is a damn job to keep clean. So, the older we get the harder it is to keep up with it.

I love my black and gold 380R, but damn it's a PITA! LMAO!

I feel this on a Spiritual level. Told my lady friend yesterday that I’m done trying to maintain all the cars. Considering 3/6 are black.

My 93 Cobra and 68 F100 are both black. I enjoy sitting in the garage and wiping them down as much as driving them. In fact, I hardly drive them anyway, especially any distance beyond 10 miles from my house.

I get it Todd. I used wipe on mine so much people would tell me I was going to rub the paint off lmao.

Also, you have your garage mahall. That does help.
