What does it take to trap 149mph

like the title says.

What does it take to trap 149 in the 1/4 mile with the stock 6 speed transmission and a 3.4 Whipple.

Anybody know?

A lot of spray and a new motor and I would still have a hard time seeing it. Have not seen anyone close to that trap speed with a six speed. Hell that one evo car was in the 9's at 141 with a whipple and a small shot. But another 7 mph's would be a good amount of spray and I doubt a stock motor with a big shot will last long.

Well it seems you just answered his question. It just doesn't take POWER... its POWER to Weight RATIO. (with a good suspension/tire setup) Two sided equation. You can't just work on one side of the equation and expect results.

Keep in mind, the Evo car was made to run a quick ET, not big MPH. So things like longer gears will slow the ET, but raise the MPH. A turbo also gives bigger MPH than a SC since it takes longer to spool and pulls harder once you've started going. If you wanted to maximize MPH, I'd think turbo with long gears. Think about Supra's. They run 130 MPH but still only run high 11's. Those cars maximize the MPH, not the ET.

I think 149mph is realistic but a few things have to be done and must be done. Like a built motor and spray-blower or turbo.

I even think 1000 rwhp is within reach if done right.

And to run that MPH with that power, do you know what a car has to weigh? The car would have to be 3300 lbs or lighter with driver (race weight).

minus STOCK seats , brakes , should i go on !!!!
