the guy that i go to for my gears says-and he has about 30 years exp-
that 456's in a street car will just spin the tires all day long unless you run slicks or a verry soft tire . but its your car you make the call .

See that's what I'm afraid of. Its definately not gonna be on slicks, ill be running 315 drs (18s) and I don't know if that'll be enough tire for 4.56s...oh well, I'm probably just going to go for the 4.30s, I'm sure ill be happy with them.

I would go with the 4.30s. You will spins the tires with any type of gear but the higher you go the harder it will be to get traction. I voted and choose 4.30s for you.
Also look at the poll the 4.30s are out in front.

4.30's for the 4.6 1996-2001 N/A Cobra's
4.10's for the 4.6 1999-2004 GT's
3.73's for the 5.0's

Perfect.

I've driven 5.0 Cobas with 3:73's and 96-98 Cobras with 4:30's and they both feel just right. If I'm not mistaken the 96-98 Cobras perform better with 4:10's if your gonna supercharge them.

Boost is a whole other ball game. If it's just a simple Vortech bolt on kit, some people like the 4.10s. But some people say it's too much and prefer 3.73s. Then you've got turbo guys begging for stock 3.27s if not 3.08s or heaven forbid 2.73s. Bascially more boost = less gear. So yeah, you're right and that whole paragraph was for nothing other than my own amusement.
