Well I test drove a 2012 GT500 and wasn't impressed!!!!! I know it was stock but was expecting more! I know My 5.0 could run with it and probably jump out on the GT500.

Thats 550 crank hp or about 495hp to the wheels and its heavier then your car. The difference is a good tune and a pully and the car becomes a monster!

I know, I was thinking the suspension is a lot better. That's why it didn't feel that powerful!!! It will be a hard decision because I'm done with mine except for a Paxton!!!!!

Used 11/12 GT500's are in the low $40K's. And then you would have to put on a TVS supercharger with supporting mods to keep up with a Paxton powered 5.0.

Unless you can't live without the Shelby/SVT/Cobra badges, the 5.0 is more car for the money. There is a reason why the 5.0 is on C@D's 10 best every year, and the Shelby isn't.
