which "L" should I be looking for

I have decided to look for a Lightning which has been wrote off to be a doner truck for my F250, I was going to add the L s/c but would be in to alot of extra cost in misc. BS. What year L would you recomend for best motor?:beer:

01 to 03 since they have the 90mm MAF sensor and 20 More HP and 10 FT lb more torque over the 99-00 motors.

I know where a wrecked one is....its a 99 or 00 though.....and its in South Carolina. They guy said he would take 4k for the truck without the bed.....kinda high IMO :shrug:

Any of the 99-03s would work well. 20 horses are easy to make up. You have a helluva job on your hands. Good Luck. :beer:

My dad kinda thought about buying the wrecked L and putting the motor in an '87 or so F250 that he has with one of those old international diesels but it really wouldn't be worth it considering the truck is in pretty rough condition..........good luck with the project Digger :beer:
