The first one looks amazing. How did you do this? I have been thinking about doing these to mine for the longest time.

Lots of patience and time with some model brushes I bought from a hobby store and tooth picks, some of them being filed down to certain points to get them to fit in the tiny slats.

How did you get the emblems black? Plasti Dip? Did you take the badges off or just tape off the fender?

Yup, lots of light coats of plasti dip. The first time, I just left them on the car and taped around it and for over spray. With doing the orange, I actually took it off so I could actually do the detail, and not have the paint drip out.

I might have to do this. I might as well paint them while they are off the car. Are they a pain to take off? Sorry for asking so many questions lol

No worries, lol. They were actually fairly easy to take off. Took some fishing line and ran it behind the emblem to cut through the adhesive, and it pulled right off. You can only go a little bit from the top, as there are 2 alignment pins on the emblem that go into the fender. So, I hit those, then ran the rest up from the bottom.

Do you have to use double sided tape to get them back on? Or the 3M tape?

I plan on using the 3M double sided tape when I do put them back on. The first pic is the emblem just stuck in the alignment holes. Can't decide if I want to keep them black with just the eye or all the slats done. I'll have to pull it out in the daylight tomorrow and see what it looks like from a distance.

That first one is AMAZING! One of the reasons I like it so much is that the orange paint makes it look like the car paint is showing through. Very different look. My advice to those who are going to do this is to try to match the exterior paint color as closely as possible. Again, to make it appear like the car's paint is visible through the emblem. :)
