I went from 4.10's with 530/580 to 3.55's and its a night and day difference. I still can't hook with drag radials at any speed in 2nd and most of the first part of third lol.

i have 3.55's with the SRA, i trap 132-133mph in the 1/4 on 26" ET drags.. A buddy has 4.10's and the 26" tires are not enough.. he is redlining big time at the end of the track and traps right at 128-130mph, making about 105hp more then me.. at that time anyway.. i have thought about going to 3.73's. but idk if its really worth it! Now my buddy is fixing to install 3.27's, the 4.10's suck for highway driving.. loud as shit inside the car, cuz rpm is so high.. we are fixing to try out some 28" tires, so we will see how they compare at the track.. (that might make me switch to 3.73's, to get the rpm/launch where i want it at the track)..

I had 3.55's for about 7 years in my car, I ran a 26" tire on the street and the track, really good combo.

When I started to mess around with the 28" tire/slicks on the street and track I went with a 3.73 and it stepped up the car bigtime, lil more issues with traction on the 1-2, but what car doesnt have it.

With the above being said, I have a built 8.8 im installed and I have 3.90's in it, because Im leaning more towards a weekend combo and drag car. the 3.90's are good for about 145-147mph on a 28" tire and a 6speed in the 1/4.

I say the following....

3.55's good for 26" tire
3.73's. good mix for 28" tire
3.90 for max effort 6speed, and 28" tire

I have been 10.60's on stock 17's with a 3.73 and 27.5" 295/45/17 MT DR...

I agree with Allen.
My current set up for drag is 3.55s and 28s.
Track times are low 10s, mid 130 and low 1.4x 60' times.
If the rear grenades it will be up graded with 3.73s or even 3.90s.
"Max effort" here we come!

I have 3.73's in mine and think they are perfect. With me trapping in the 118-122mph zone it just seemed like I was barely getting into 4th before i crossed the end of the 1/4 with 3.55s. With the 3.73's it seemed like i was actually using 4th more. 4.10's would probably be ideal for me but you will need a good tire to get traction in the lower gears at the track. The other thing i like is on the freeway in 6th i rarely have to down shift when accelerating.

i had the same experience at the track with the 3.55's. seemed like i wasn't really using 4th until i went to the 3.73's

ok well i just went for a first break-in drive of my new 4.10's... i think i am REALLY gonna like em!!
