just like the title says im thinking about doing a gear swap and i am wondering who is running 4.10s with power over 600rwhp. what do you tac through a 6 speed in the quarter mile going through the traps and what gear are you in. Im bassically trying to find out if a 4.10 is to steep for my power level.

im not a terminator owner, but im gonna go ahead and say that it might be too much gear. Is yours a DD or mostly a drag car? Have you thought about 3.73s?

I'm not now, but I have had that gear with 600+. Way too much gear for most combinations on a street car.

i'm going to be putting a 3.27 gear in mine in a couple weeks......i think a bigger gear like a 4.10 is counter-intuitive in a car with 600+rwhp/tq

If you are running higher than 125 in the quarter, don't get 4.10s. I have 4.10s with 570 whp and a T-56 and it gets close to having to shift into 5th before the traps, and that's with the SN95 6800rpm redline.

I think I'm going to drop down to 3.73's soon, for the track and for the street. I'd like to be able to go over 130 without shifting into 5th.

yeah im running 3.55s right now but when i switch back to a solid axle id like to run 3.73s. 4.10s would def be too much with the power level i have now.

(1/4 mile times in sig are quite outdated and from when i was running less boost)

4.10's with a 600+ hp termi is useless...1st gear even on slicks will be non existant..

Not true. If you run 4.10's and a 28" tire, it's a perfect combo for the 600 hp range. I run my M+H DR's on the street and they spin in first, but it still moves out, and full on hooks in 2nd. When I had the KB and 608 to the tires is when I ran my best times. My friend has almost identical power in his cobra, and he has 3.73's. I work him all the time! haha

I agree. 4.10's with a tall slick wont be that bad, but on a 26" or shorter setup it wont work as well.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend a 4.10 gear with 600rwhp...unless you're running a 28" slick or a taller tire. I've been running a 3.90 gear for a few years now and it's too much IMO on the street.

Kinda off subject but with 4:10s and a T56 what is the RPM's at highway speed (70mph) in 6th gear?

depends on the cars weight, driver, traction. too many variables.

on the low end I would say 130-132.....on the high end 140-144

use the graph above to calculate it

and I still have that friggin bumper.....Im terirble
