well, all this talk makes me want to prove some cobra owners wrong. i posted 2 videos below and one pic, this was about 3 years ago. now, i have a 04 procharged mach 1

I love when it gets brought up that 2Vs can't cut it. Makes me want to do another 2V car instead of waiting for the right terminator to come along. We have a guy here in NC who has an '03 GT, heavily modded but a stock displacement N/A setup that the quickest I saw it run at Rockingham was 11.69 @119. It has been a 7.18 pass in the 1/8th mile also. The car has all the excess weight removed, yet still retains A/C and stereo. Built 4R70w tranny w/ a 4000 rpm stall, with 275/40/17 M/T dr's, the car puts about 2-3 inches of daylight under the front 17" eagle cobra r replicas. The only vid I can find of the car is when he ran my buddies white '04 pullied/exhaust cobra that made 484 rwhp. The GT red-lighted this pass, and also launched in 2nd gear instead of 1st... hence the reason it only went 12.1s this pass to the cobra's 11.9.

No I had a 03 GT.
my old set up on my 02 gt was tune, off road x pipe, steeda underdrive pullies , 3000 stall , uppers and lower control arms , acufad plenuem and 75mm throtle body , k&n cold air , and slicks and i was running constant 12:8 n 12:9 at 110 mph with that and a 100 shot my friend ran 12:5 @ 113 mph .

now i just have a built 4v with 03 cobra heads ported and polished with 5 angle valve job and fr500 cams and springs and ported intake from 03 mach 1numbers coming soon .

looks like he launched the hell out of you but you were starting to gain on him.
I had an 03gt with built rearend, lower control arms, 17" et streets, offroad h and a cold air with 100 shot ran 12.3 at 114 with a 1.77 60 ft time. You have more horsepower than the gt, but he has you beat in torque and traction. with an 80 shot mine dyno'd at 346, 440tq.
