Going in December for 2 weeks.

Anything I should add to the list of things to do, see or eat?

We're not staying in any one place for more than 2 nights. We plan to travel around.

Garden of Remembrance in Belfast. Pour one out for the IRA and the boys who didn't make it.....if you go to Northern Ireland.

My wife went to Cork earlier in the year. She said the Guinness brewery was a lot of fun and if you like whiskey the Jameson Distillery was fun too.

She went to Blarney Stone too but she said prepare for crowds.

Go to Cliffs of Moehr, fantastic view if the fog doesn't roll in on you.

My family all hit Durty Nelly's pub next to Bunratty Castle. Nice old pub, been there since 1600's I think. We had a nice time last time we were there sitting with a bunch of locals and watching "football" with them.

We traveled there with two teenage daughters. It was hell, but alcohol helped.

I second the Guinness factory, stayed in a castle, spent one night in a room located directly above a pub, which was dumb….

I spent about a month there 20 some odd years ago… backpacked, stayed in hostels… Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland… Dublin was awesome, cork and limerick are boring… I have some distant family in Belfast and Londonderry.. Things have calmed down, but I wouldn’t discuss politics or religion if I were you :ROFLMAO:

I stopped through there for a refuel when returning from Iraq. Those chicks love American G.I's.

One even offered to help look for me missing lucky charms.

Lol I got accused of faking an american accent… apparently that’s a thing there… if you aren’t careful you can end up with a wife…

Guy I used to work with married an Irish girl.

Because readily apparent why they need so much whiskey.

Was there for about a month about 5 years ago for work. They drive on the "other side of the road" so be warned it messes with you if you're going to drive while there.

You will have to plan out meals as most stores and even restaurants are only open say 10 to 6 or so there. Lots of fresh food bakery's but limited hours.

It's very traditional. Lots of beautiful horses. Check out some of the vintage castles. I went and saw the white star Titantic exhibit in Cork. I remember it being a bit interesting, but like I said it was 5 years ago.

You will have a great time.

Had a friend just get back. When I asked him how was his trip, he said I've never walked so much in my life. He was glad he had a comfortable pair of shoes.....so bring a comfortable pair of shoes!

My wife and I spent about 8 days there a few years ago.

Must sees:

Giants Causeway
Carrick-a-Rede
Dunluce castle
Dark Hedges

If you like whiskey, check out the Bushmills distillery.

From our experience, the people everywhere we really nice, and polite. Very accommodating to US citizens.

Some folks will have a really thick accent, others not so much. It can take a while to get used to.

From our trip in 2018:

A nice trip from Dublin is to Newgrange monument and then lunch/dinner and lots of whiskey at Slane Castle. They are about 15 minutes apart and about 1 hour from Dublin.

Below are the links:

Slane Castle: Explore Slane Castle estate in the heart of the Boyne Valley, Ireland

Google Maps: Slane Castle · Slanecastle Demesne, Slane, Co. Meath, Ireland

Newgrange: Newgrange Stone Age Passage Tomb - Boyne Valley, Ireland

Google Maps: Newgrange

For a tour of Guinness you’ll need to book tickets in advance. Here is a link to the reservations: Buy Tickets for Tours & Experiences | Guinness Storehouse.

You can buy personalized Guinness pint glasses and pick them up the day you visit. Very nice touch. . Guinness Personalised Glass in a Gift Box

Have fun. Ireland is a great place to visit.
