why cant i buy Amsoil at my local auto parts store? (autozone/advance auto or even at the race track; they advertise it!) I have to go thru a dealer, like a pyramid scam... :mj::mj::mj::mj:
I don't see how a company selling its products via their own web site (or dealer network), rather than brick & mortar store fronts, equates to a "pyramid scheme". :??:why cant i buy Amsoil at my local auto parts store? (autozone/advance auto or even at the race track; they advertise it!) I have to go thru a dealer, like a pyramid scam... :mj::mj::mj::mj:
Main reason I'm not a fan of the dealer thing is getting hit on to buy from guys that have signed up to be dealers. Someone walks up to talk to me about my car, then ask "what oil do you use?" And I know where it's going. As for it being a pyramid scheme - can a dealer sign up another dealer "under" him and he then get's a cut from his sales, if yes - it's a pyramid model - maybe not a "scheme" since there is product invovled, but it's a pyramid.
No, you don't. You can become a Preferred Customer via the Amsoil link I provided. No "guy" is required. Its just very odd that Amsoil doesn't sell there products thru part stores. Preferred Customer is still going thru a certain guy and you do have to still pay for shipping and handling for orders over $100. I will still use Amsoil but its just kind of bullshit. I still want to know WHY! Kind of weird/shady!
+1.The reason you are not able to purchase AMSOIL in a local parts store is because they support small business owners.
+1. I had to buy my MGW Shifter directly from MGW and pay shipping because I couldn't locate any retailers selling them. Add them to the "weird/shady" column too...? :rollseyesThe logic behind this question dumbfounds me. How many high end performance automotive products are only available from the manufacurer or select dealer and not AZ, O'r, Adv, Summit, etc? I guess this makes them shady and illegitimate as well :rollseyes
Support small business owners? That just sounds like BS. Amsoil is in the business to make money and should be to get their product to their customers, right? yes or no Capitalism!!! Make it EZ for me to buy your products from local stores. And we are talking about MOTOR OIL, not performance parts!!
good answer Jesus... your the guy that's brings a sledgehammer to hang a picture too... maybe you need a larger IQ to understand. So I guess you like having to order motor oil online verses buying to at a local parts store. Your the guy that walks around the problem instead of trying to solving the problem... Still did not answer my question! WHY!
