Well took my 03' out for the last time today before I put it up for the winter and naturally somethings wrong. The car when it is initially started and warmed up won't have problems until I drive it for a while. The problem is it won't go into gear sometimes, mainly first and reverse. Don't even know where to guess with this. Could it be the clutch? Any help is appreciated if you need more information let me know. Thanks!!!

Anyone think it makes sense that when the cable is warming up, there is some binding going on?

How does the clutch feel when you push the pedal to the floor?

Feels about the same as it did before it started having these problems. Really stiff other than that smooth. Not even sure what I should be looking for

Just wondering if you feel anything while pressing the clutch pedal down. Does it feel any different when cold than when you have the problem trying to get in gear. My thinking is that when it warms up, you would have an issue where the clutch cable was binding up. I may be wrong, just trying to eliminate a possibility.

I mean when I first start driving it for the day it doesn't really have a problem getting into first or reverse. Only after I have been driving it.

is this only an issue when standing at a complete stop? have you tried going into second? is an issue as well? or only 1st and reverse?
does it get better and end up going in gear after holding the clutch down for several seconds?
what kind of clutch and do you have firewall adjuster and quadrant?
if not, the clutch might need adjusting like cobrabob said. you just pull up on the clutch pedal with your foot.

O well thanks for explain the "adjusting" to me, it yes only from a complete stop and I will usually end up putting it in second to take off, has a little more trouble going into second then average but will go in unlike first. Driveline wise everything is stock. Next time I drive it I will see about pulling it up with my foot and see if that helps. Thanks!

This is a common thing with t56s. My buddies terminator does it, old 05 cts-v (t56) did the same thing. Only in 1st from a dead stop. I just came to deal with it, I don't think it could cause any harm, it's just annoying.

+1 mine does this to after the cars been driven for awhile. Mainly 1st and reverse just like OP. I do however need tranny dropped because of a loud metallic sound. Waiting till spring as mines now put away for the winter.

If you sit in neutral with the clutch pushed in, the gears stop spinning and it will be hard to put it in gear if you sit there awhile that way. Let the clutch out in neutral just before you shift into first or reverse.

That or, the clutch is not disengaging all the way.
