Hello everyone,

I am getting ready to order new tires for my mach 1.

Currently it has stock rims (17X8) and I am wanting to get wider tires. I have been thinking about 18X9 or 18X9.5, however before placing the order and then them getting here and not fitting correctly, does anyone have any information on how wide I can go without them rubbing.

I am going to go with 18X8's in the from and something wider in the back.

Thanks in Advance

I have 17x10 in the rear and 17x9 in front
if you running a 275+ believe 10" wide is optimal.
the important part is the backspacing

Yeah, since I am thinking about going to 18's though, I wasn't sure if that would make much of a difference.

If you're moving up to 18's, do a combo of 18x9/10 or 10.5. 18x8 is too small/skinny, IMO and would look funny if the offset is off and not intended for our cars. You can run 265's upfront and 295/35's outback. You shouldn't rub unless you're slammed or close to it.

Ok, I just ordered some 18x9 rims and are trying to decide the tire size to go with.

Keep in mind that I have lowered my Mach just over an inch.

I have been toying with different ideas.

245/40/18 in front
265/40/18 in back

245/40/18 in front
275/40/18 in back

255/40/18 in front
275/40/18 in back

Those are the different options that I have priced out, however if you have different suggestions, please offer them up. When it comes to some of the staggered setups and lowered/larger tires, anything besides OEM starts to get muddy for me.

Thanks in Advance!!!

I had 18x10 saleens from american muscle with nitto 305/30/18s and the tires rubbed and cut the sidewall slightly, this happened with stock mach springs

Yeah, I don't see myself wanting anything that wide. 285's would prolly be my max, however more likely 275's in the rear...just really gotta figure out what will work best/fit in the front on a 18x9 rim.

On my 03 Mach 1 I had for years I ran 275's Front (9.0) and 315's rear (10.5) and never had ANY problems. 17x9 F and 17x10.5 R

I have 335 30 18 on an 11 inch wheel and H&R SS springs. My fenders are rolled and I haven't had any problems.
What offset wheel? I have a set of 335-30-18 that I want to fit out back. I'm leaning toward fr500s but I believe they're only 10" and I think the tire will be too bulky on a 10
