Would you Upgrade to an SVTP Premium Membership?

i would pay just because i know that it costs $$$ and lots of time to keep something like this going without any major glitches and no banner ads! i love this place and i'd hate to see it go the way of many other sites that have been bought and pimped like so much trash.

SVTP is great the way it is. I would pay but i disagree with this premium membership idea.

I think you should offer a membership at a cheaper price without all the things like shirt, pen, etc. Like a basic membership at $20 or so/year. I also think you should offer some sort of trial membership. Like $5 for 3 months to see if it's worth it to each person. Even then, I'm not sure I'd do it. I don't mind donating money periodically, but, for whatever reason, I've never liked the idea of having to pay to get the full benefits out of a site.

I think recent monetary endevors by the site serve as prime examples of the response that wil be received.

Remember the rule of "group buy" always applies. 50 says "i'd buy it" 4 pay.

I definitely agree with this. Everyone is quick to say they'd buy now, but I bet when it actually becomes available, not that many will really do it.

I came to this site about 3 years ago now and decided to become a member once I saw the abundance of knowledge on cars. Before this I had been a member of SVTOA witch has some of these incentives when you become a member on their main website. I have to say there site is not what it used to be and has a small amount of members when compared to svtp. I think that right now the hardcore svtp fans will defiantly jump in and go for it but in due time as people begin to look at the $45 as more of a burden on their wallets you will see less and less of a following. The younger generation will go other places as the private forums will be full of the knowledgeable members that make this site unique. Also a lot of the younger and other svtp goers cant afford the price of membership especially as a yearly fee. If you want for meetings like what you listed then just make people pay when they come to the meetings instead of turning the site into a cash machine. I myself hope that svtp will not do this b/c the numbers of people coming here will drop in the long run and the site will eventually be just mainly paying members with private forums.

I like the fact that this is about the only board I'm on that doesn't allow porn. You allow it and all of a sudden that's what it's about instead of the original reason we're all here. There's plenty of porn boards out there for you guys to visit.

On that note, I've donated before, so I suppose I could again, altho my time spent here will be gradually declining. I guess it will come down to which happens first: The Premium Package or my truck selling, lol.
