WOW is right! My memory is not that great, but that car being called a 'body in white' doesn't sound right to me. I know the frame was dipped during fabrication, so the VIN plate would be gone, but I really think it started life as a 95 Cobra. Maybe not an actual R Model, but I assume it was a real Cobra. (I could be completely wrong) :)

p.s. - Hi Mark!

Hey Marcie! The auction says he bought the car from Mike P and I seem to remember Tom telling me this car wasn't a real R which may be why it's listed as a Mustang Cobra "R". From a historical standpoint it is a pretty cool car because I believe it's the only Cobra "R" spec mustang to win the Championship. I'm guessing the price is to just getting attention which it's getting!!! Even here in China!!

I believe Tom told me that it was built from a BIW when we spoke at the Carlisle All Ford show many years ago....I still have (and wear) the T-Shirt with this car on it, purchased from Tom back in the day....I dont know how to value this car, it does have neat history, but still....I dont get the million dollar price tag on it....

I'm thinking, based on the way the ad reads (like I don't know that much about this car, so ask this guy)....an uninformed or delusional seller. Lots of those guys around lately.

That car was for sale at the same time as the Zippo car I bought. I went with the Zippo car since it was R chassis #69.

I spoke to Tom about the car to get his thoughts on it. In fact, I think Mark and I also spoke about both cars before I bought. The car is unique in Mustang Racing History since it won the Triple Crown that one year. I recall it being a BIW. I don't remember if it was actually built by Dave or a left-over race car from the Zippo Team. The Zippo Team still had one BIW sitting in the back corner of their shop when I picked up my car in 2002.

Going to list my 2000R this week. 6k miles. Absolutely new in every way. All original including the tires. Cobra book, dash plaque, window sticker and SVT cert. Won 1st place in every Mustang show entered.

Thoughts on pricing guys.

I am not one who thinks this is a 60-70K car like some I have seen on ebay.

I'm thinking $46,000-$52,000 as a want to sell range.

Before you list it elsewhere, have you thought about listing it on "B.A.T."?

i think 46k-52k is strong for a 6k mile car in this market based on recent auction results. if i were you i would put it on ebay with a reserve and see what happens.

#225 was for sale in july in texas with 2300 miles at $47,500 for a while and i dont think it sold

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2000-Ford-M...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

It's all in the details (or lack of in this cars/auctions case) and presentation (lacking)......

BAT and an attentive seller and he it will sell.

After owning a 95R a few months I'm itching to get a 00R. Only downside is I'd have to get rid of my 04 Comp Orange Vert, which I'm not sure that i want to do.

I'm curious what twinvipers is looking to get for his 00R.
