That cobrajet piece is VERY expensive, does the throttle cable and TPS sensor plug right in? As soon as the tranny is fixed the car will be in Florida again, keep me updated on what your car makes!

not to be "that guy" but with the price these GT500 owners put on their blowers, its just not worth it when you get done. Its not cost effective and at the end of the day you could possibly push 600hp but with all the money you spent you coulda saved 1500$ and got a port on a m112 or a whipple.. Leaves many asking the question "WHY"

There's no way that blower can out flow a Dragon. Save your money guys and if you have the Dragon just keep it.

It's but I'm hoping it's worth it. James made a different throttle bracket to route the cables to fit. He also made a tps adapter so I could mount my oem tps sensor to it. Worked out great! I'll definitely keep you updated!

He makes what extremely maxed out ported m112's make on low timing and 17* of timing. A whipple (used) is easily 2500-3000 dollars without anything else. Add another 450 to make things even compared to his upgrade. He CAN make 570 and like amount of torque if he threw in some torco or a little race gas and he makes 570 on an UNPORTED m122. Please, this is easily one of the best bang for buck kits on the market. I'll make sure to be "that guy" and pm you my results as mine will be a bit more "maxed" out to give a better comparison to a ported m112.

Posi is correct in my opinion. By the math the Dragon's surface area is larger than even the larger elbow from VMP. Thus the choke point is not the TB but the elbow.

While many of you say it is close to a well ported M112 this simply is not so. How many M112's come close to 550 whp on 93 oct? Not many. This kit is simply right in the middle. Between the "maxed Eaton" and a twin screw. The price is right in the middle also.
By no means is this for everyone, but it is a viable option.

To be honest I have fun helping others get the most for there buck.

What are most people spending to go this route?

As in, the M122 blower cost, cost of the parts needed from Cobra Engineering, and the price of the Dragon TB. ?

Does this swap require a Dragon TB?

Seems like a decent amount of HP for the money.

You. An get a used m122 for 300-500 bucks. The kit is 650. The dragon TB is 400(?). I don't think it requires the dragon but for the best results( and least restriction before the inlet) the dragon is the best bet. All supporting mods aside, this is a very good kit for good money. If you already have supporting mods, for 1150( minus what you can get for your blower) and a tune and you have an easy 550 rwhp without even making the blower sweat. A ported blower and you're around 580 easily. As James said right in between.

Just looked at the build thread! I enjoyed reading your story. I love your car man, I wouldn't mind going this route myself!

Did you have to use different idler pulleys for your set up? I have a 2.76 upper and 4lb lower on my M112 and the necessary pulleys. But I'm wondering what else I would have to swap besides the M122, intake kit, Gearhead kit, and battery relocation( possible to just switch to the passenger side?)? Is it all custom brackets for the throttle and cruise cables? Also, is there a difference in this M122 and the 2011+ eatons?

Thanks, and awesome build thread, I've been contemplating this for some time now.

The Dragon is about $320 new. This is the one without the IAC provision.
I don't count this since most who want to max their M112 will end up going to the Dragon either way.

The only difference on the 2011-12 M122s is the color.
But wait for the 2013 Shelbys to start shedding their TVS blowers. Then we are going to have some fun.

You use the same idlers. The kit comes with a custom bracket for TB/cruise location.

Yes, the feet need to be cut down 1/4". This is so the fuel rails clear.
There is some other minor clearance grinds also. Check the website and look at the machining instructions. --> HERE

I did his on this occasion, but most choose to do it on their own.

I have done this to my car and with my belt slipping to 17psi, I made 572/582. Now that the belt slip is fixed I hit 21psi every time. I'm running on ethanol as well. This is my daily driver

I'm glad to see your car up and running strong Jad. Have you been back on the dyno to see what she makes at 21 psi?

No I'm not all that concerned with what it's putting down at this point, I'm just enjoying having the car running finally after all the hardship I went thru with it. I at least have those dyno results as a baseline but if my curiosity starts biting I'll take it to a dyno locally and see what it does. Or if I mess with it in a way I'd think improved power, but I really want to leave the power alone and just enjoy it for once and finally. I'm very happy with the power, the torque and the drivability make it a great DD.
