We bought the Alcoa Shelby 50th anniversary wheels for our 2013 GT500. I'm looking to find out what are the widest tires we can run without rubbing/interfering. We don't want to do ANY modifications.

Looking at Nitto Invos:
275/35/20 fronts on 9s
305/35/20 rears on 10s

Thanks.

BTW... here's a pic of the car.

They leave Las Vegas with 275 on the rear.

Some have run 295 but some have rubbed especially if lowered.

A 305 will stick outside the wheel well.

If you have your wheels widened in the inside you can run a 305 without modifying anything on the car.

I have the alcoas also. I run 275 front, 295 rear Nitto Invos. No rubbing issues, no modifying and I am lowered on steeda sport springs. You can go 305 in the back and still be ok, especilally stock height

Thank you. How do the Invos work in the cold? I want to be able to drive on cold days & would prefer traction. The Conti DWS we currently have are infinitely better than the factory GYs. I was hoping the Invos would be good in cold & better in summer.

No Invo's, but here is a rear view of a 305/35 Pirelli P Zero mounted on a 10" Alcoa on the rear of a 2007/08 Super Snake. The tire bulge gets out past the fender......

^^^This owner decided to pay $2K to have his axle assy. shortened by 1/2" on each end to pull the rear tires in, so I have "before and after" pictures.

you can send them to us. we can shave some material off the back of the wheel to bring them in a bit. at least up to.200", possibly .250". $100 per wheel plus return shipping.

I think you'll be OK with the 305 invos. From my experience, the invos run a little small anyway. Youj may also want to look at the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. They seem to run a little wide (I'm betting they will be as wide as the 305 invo).

you mean 295 invos?

if you widen your wheels to 11" the 305s will be fine. its sidewall bulge that makes them rub when on a 10" wide wheel.

some people have reported rubbing with 295s as well. that's why SAI only recommends running up to 285 on them.

Thanks for all the replies so far.

I'm thinking 275s for the front & 295s for the rear is probably the safest bet without pushing my luck.

Just want to figure out which tires to use. We currently have the Continental DWS on the stock rims. These are great all weather treads, even in the cold. We're looking to just run one set of wheels year round. Maybe we'll just keep the DWS on the stock rims & use them for cold weather & run some nice sticky tires for the summer time.

Here is the 275/295 combo you are talking about on a 9"/10" Alcoa set-up. I think these are Invo's if I remember correctly......

Idk what size tires. But I wanted to say the car looks really good
Thank you. I think it will look significantly better with the polished aluminum wheels insted of the darker SVT wheels.

Thanks for these pictures. I'm hoping that the tires will just hit the outside edge of the fenders on the 2013 like they do on this car.

i noticed your front grill is different from all of the other 2013 grills i've seen. were you able to change it during the ordering process?

by the way, if you don't plan on any modifications you will probably still spin those invo's with factory power (if that's what you decide). you may research the mich pilot super sports for good traction and tread life. i've read a lot of good things about them and may be pulling the trigger on some myself.

^^You're welcome.

Pictures say it all. To me, this tire combo fits the 9"/10" very nice.

My Alocoas are going on thursday. I went with Invo 275's for the front and 295's for the back. I'll post pics when I get it back.

I bought a set of 2012 upper & lower grills and installed them. I wanted more protection for the radiators. Our car is a cruiser & will never see track time so we're not too concerned about any minor disruption in airflow affecting cooling. We've cruised for over 3 hours on a 94° day with no issues.

Nice looking car. Did you have any issues rubbing running the 305s? Or did you do some modification to get them to fit?

Thank you for all your responses so far.

I'm also looking for any user feedback on tire selection. We've got the continental DWS on the stock rims. I'm very happy with them for cold weather & rain. They did fine in the hot weather too. I am hoping to go with something that has a little more grip without sacrificing cold weather driveability. That's why I was looking at the INVOs over the MTs.

I'd like to only keep one set of tires/wheels for the car. Any feedback on how the INVOs & MTs perform in the cold & wet is appreciated. Thank you.
