So the cobra ran 6 times without a I/C pump? That's alot of power killing, timing pulling heat being sucked in. You should ad that to first post so people don't think you beat a cobra that would put down 458 when you raced him.

I think the new 5.0's are stout and i'm a old 5.0 guy but the IC pump being inop had to be the reason for the lost. With 67rwhp and probably 100rwtq more, i can't see the 5.0 winning unless the cobra has cinder blocks in the trunk or the driver wasn't doing his best.
Nice wins though.

i love how everyone gets down to the science and math of a race...

like theres gotta be a mathematical equation when a cobra loses..or it didnt lose...and if it did its because the method of science and mathematical proportion was not adding up correctly that day...cant just admit the cobra got wooped...woopdy ****ing doo...

My car made 391 rwhp before the JLT CAI & John Lund tune. These new 5.0s are just fast. I love my Cobra and ultimately it will be the faster of my two cars.

Actually I don't understand how you get traction. I cannot go WOT in any of the first 3 gears below 50 without blowing the tires off. I live in the Dallas area and welcome your giving me a driving lesson. I'm running Nitto 315's and have given up getting traction on the street. My car has just about become a strip car where the track is prepped. You can drive my car and I'd
be willing to bet you'll blow the tires off too. If not, maybe I'll learn something.

Ok, so what I want to know is simple. Was you IC pump working during the race discussed in this thread; yes or no? Next what rwhp was the 5.0 laying down at the time of the race? Con't get me wrong a win is a win but answers to these two questions hugely effect the validity of whether the 5.0 is truely quicker/faster or if the Cobra simply wasn't running its best. I'm not trying to call bs or anything. I just want to know all the freaking details. Accurately! I could honestly care less that the Cobra lost. There is always someone quicker/faster.

I don't see it as a surprise. We've seen bolt-on, tune, tire cars crack into the 10's with some weight reduction.

Please show me this. I've only seen that done with nitrous thus far which doesn't impress me in the least. I am impressed with mid elevens though from what I've seen.

On another note, if I ever upgrade to a twin screw on my 04 Cobra and I get worked by a N/A 5.0, there will be a "Terminator for sale" folks, and I'll probably have the latest Mustang sitting in its place, soon to be smoked by the next generation of the Mustang!

Aint that the truth. I'm not too worried about it on the street.

Nice runs. There are going to be a bunch of demoniacal '11 GT's prowling the streets soon!

I just ran a guy that works for me that just bought an '11 GT (3.31's) in my Terminator on Thursday. We messed around for a bit on the highway and then exited onto another highway to go home. I thought he was going to make a right hand exit so I pulled alongside in the left lane in sixth gear going about 55. As we got even, he punched it so by the time I downshifted to third and nailed it, my front bumper was even with his rear. I immediately stopped his pull and started pulling back even. By the time I shifted to 4th I was ahead. I shut down at about 120 with me ahead by a car. If I had a 2.76 upper, I would have destroyed him. I was going to say that either your buddy can't drive or his car isn't putting down 458rwhp, but I just saw that you said his intercooler pump wasn't working. Explains it. The guy I raced also has a low 10 second foxbody so I know driving isn't what slowed him down.

The poster has a bolt-on 11GT. Was the GT you ran modded?

The 2003 Cobra was running fine; intercooler pump was out when I raced him in my 2004 Cobra with similar mods on both cars (June 2010). I was simply answering someones post on whether my other car (04 SY cobra) would outrun my 2011 GT. I think it would be really close. We'll never know as my Cobra is down for major modifications.

I don't have up to date numbers on my 2011 GT since the JLT CAI and John Lund tune. I was gonna dyno it on Friday but it fell through. I made 391 RWHP with just a set of ARH headers.

The race literally took place immediately after installing the tune and CAI. It was fun and I just wanted to share my experiences. I was looking to race a Challenger or Camaro SS but after calling out people on local forums and getting no responses, we decided to race for some comparisons. I will have new dyno numbers and e.t. asap.

Man,.....I really need to stop coming into the road kill forum. The threads here just suck me in. In addition they alway vere totally off course. I'm a huge contributor of that in this thread. Therefore, to the OP; I am sorry. Nice kill. If I didn't already have my 04' and was buying one today; I'd choose the 11' over the 03/04 most likely. However, my current situation...I have way to much money into my 04 and with a $30K+ cost of the 11's. Let just say I'll be sticking with the 04.

Doesn't a supercharger bolt-on?

LOL! Of course it does. Technically everything bolts on in some form or fashion. I do not consider a power adder car a "bolt on" car. I'm willing to bet there are many others that feel the same as me too.

+1! I'm more impressed by the livernois mustang that N/A and running 11.1's than the supercharged one running 10's.
