^ahh nobody said to do that so I just assumed it was good to use... Hhhmmm

Also I think I know some more of the problem! Went to start it and pull it into the garage a minute ago and the battery was dead????? Charged it and fired it back up, checked tha alt and she's only putting out 10.3 volts! On the way to oreilleys now! Haha

Thanks for the comments fellas! I'm proud of it even tho it don't run! Haha

It's mounted in the end of the air filter.... That's where hellion wants it.

The iat is placed into the end of the filter in the rubber. That's where hellion says put it. The k&n that came with the kit already had a hole cut for it to go there.

Well that's basically just an IAT1. That sensor will basically just read ambient. It's a good idea to have one after the compressor somewhere, closer to the tb the better. On my 01 I put in a bung to use the threaded Lightning IAT sensor. That sensor uses the factory plug so it was super easy to do. If you convert to blow through(which you should consider eventually) the benefit now with the slot style sensors is that you can run your MAF and IAT off of that same sensor.

yes I know they (Hellion) makes the system but its always good to have the IAT on the discharge side of things so it read actual temps the intake is getting.

some confusion here.....

Hellion provides the spot for the IAT1, which is in the end of the filter for ambient air, as mentiond. I think some are wondering about the IAT2, which normally is in the lower intake for the terminators and the OP does have that installed in the upper intake lid. I think it was mentioned in one of his posts. I know I spoke to him about it. So he is covered on both ends.

Ok sorry again everyone!! Still been working like a slave.

I did go by and talk to my tuner and decide a couple things I'll be doing. 80# injectors and meth!!

I already knew I'd need the 80's but I decided to run meth to be safer. I'm gonna squeeze some power out of the pump tune on one of my tunes.

I plan on running 3 tunes
1 17-18psi on 93 and meth. Meth just to cool it down a bit.

2 21-22 psi on 93 and meth.

3 25 psi on c16! Probly won't run this tune but once a year or so.

I have no idea what kind of power to expect on those tunes?? I don't dd this car, I creep around town 1 or 2 nights a week and run the Piss out of it once every 2 weeks. I want power not numbers. I'll be impressed with trap speeds not dyno sheets. On the 25# race tune I want to see stupid trap speeds!!! (evil voice right there)

I'm headed home tomorrow to put my 2 step on and pop the intake off to get the 60's ripped out. Then I'll call my dealer and see about getting some meth! (see what I did there?)

As for the iat2, yea it's mounted on the upper lid of the intake. I'm just used to calling it the map sensor, not iat2. My bad!

Hey brian I wouldn't jump to conclusions and drill a hole in the intake yet.

To me that seems like a crappy idea on how to do it. If you have the snake on your upper intake then your gonna wind up drilling right through it and have wires all on the top of the intake. Looks shitty IMO!

I didn't feel like drilling holes in my intake OR extending the map sensor wires to reach the center of the intake.(it has to go where the snake is or the sensor hits the runners on the lower) so I ran a hard line to the map sensor from the pcv inlet on the intake.

I don't think I have any pics but I'll look. As long as the sensor sees vacuum, boost and temp it's good!

Low blow? No, not at all. The info is out there, like you said, you found it when you searched. But everyone has a phone and places that sell these kits should offer customer service to their customers. I have people on multiple forums, (some forums I don't even go to anymore) asking questions about everything. I work 2 full time jobs, have a 6 month old and am still able to help a lot of people out on here. So sometimes I don't have the time to answer everything, so what do I do? Just like I said to you, call the place you bought it from. They are selling the stuff, they should support it.

And I told you not to cancel because that is wrong. You commit to someone, you should honor that commitment. When Rick was up here, what I couldn't do, I had him do for me. I consider him a friend as well as Lynn. No way would I have taken your order since you committed to them already.

And actually, the sensor does fit on the lid. I put them on the back part next to the vac port that sticks straight up. I have installed a lot there and it is somewhat hidden behind the EGR tunnel. You don't want a dead end at the sensor. My first one I had off the side vac port and it didn't read correctly all the time. Moved it to the lid where I mention and no problems.

drill bit size? No clue, just take the sensor and size it up with your bits. I used RTV on the bottom side of the sensor against the lid to make sure it was sealed. And make sure you put the vac line on the vertical port before you go drilling so that you space it correctly. Also put the IAC on, as it gets very close to it and the connector as well IIRC.

Here are some pics. These are from a buddy in Florida. I googled and I think I found this in the third link from another site. I just made a misc folder on photobucket open to public.

Misc Pics pictures by trbovnm - Photobucket

Couple pics from the folder

IAT2_1.jpg

IAT2_5.jpg

As you can see, pretty well hidden and clean. No drilling through snake needed

I took your commit the wrong way Matt.

Thanks for the help

An FYI for anyone doing this:

The hole large hole is a 1/2 perfect fit it's very snug. the small bolts i used an 11/64 bit and tapped the hole with a 5mm .8 pitch.

worked perfect for me
