I don't know about that. The Shelby is geared and it hit harder from the hit leaving the Z06 to play catchup. Had the Shelby had stock gearing, it would have hit softer, so I'm thinking it would have been a close run, but it wouldn't have been a steady pull. I don't see the Shelby coming around the Z at 200mph either.

It's amazing that you are the only person that mentioned that. Stock gears and the car wouldn't be anywhere near as quick off the hit. It's not a damn turbo car, it's faster because the gears. Sure it would have been in gear longer starting at a lower rpm and would not have started out front.

Gears (shorter) dont always equate to a faster car. Especially from a roll...

man, thats hands down the best car GM has ever produced.

You don't need astronomical HP numbers or mod list and its even N/A.

good run, looks like the shelby needs about 760rwhp to be able to hold of the H/C Z06

on v-box we are about dead even and actually my car is a tick faster 60-130 but not worth mentioning. However, I want to race from a dig drag radial to drag radial and see what happens? I will hold off on the lower pulley until then because it will be game over for the vette!:burn:

Just want to make sure everyone knows the shelby could have rung out 4th a little more to prove its point. Despite the 3.73s that tr6060 is not a close ratio trans by any means.

With the 2.66 magnum, shelbys stock tire height of 27.85 inches (285/35/20) and 7000rpm rev limit you are at 155mph in 4th. Even if you dont want to go all the way to redline you still get 144 at 6500. So maybe the GT 500 driver has some smaller tires or is playing it safe with rpms?

Shelby short shifted to 5th and stayed on the gas momentarily as the vette was screaming to the top of 4th. Lets not make it out like the Zo6 is that much faster in the top end.

There are still mods that can be made to the Z06 as well...

Someone on this site please explain to me... Old terminators useally needed 100-110ish more rwhp to edge a c6.. A 13 cobra needs 160+ish rwhp more to edge a c6? Granite it can reach higher hp levels with minor mods but can you say dyno queen much? One would think Shelby would made the cobra more impressive than this..

Trolls gona troll...

True..but you have to take into account that the Vette and Shelby are just different cars. The Vette is a two-seat, fiberglass body, lightweight sports car where the Shelby is basically a modern muscle car. The difference between the weight and aerodynamics are really evident when the two race. The Shelby needs that extra Hp to make up for the body it has to accelerate.

yeah its a tick faster because you have 3.73's which help you accelerate faster..if you guys do re run, get one more than one run, and if you run to 160mph than you'll need that lower pulley to try and hold off the vette once your in 5th

Slow vette: id put my money on the gt500 in the same race but up to 165. The only way the vette wins is to let off exactly when he did. If you watch you can see ttlambo let out for a sec in 5th gear then gets back in it and stays side by side as the z lets off the gas in 4th gear at 7000 rpms lol if that vette had to go into 5th the 500 would walk away. The only race the vette wins is that one.i would still reccommend a taller tire though ttlambo. Stock size tire and 155 would be top of 4th even with 373s. Great runs but do it again lol!!

Where did you come up with the 100 rwhp number? I think that's a bit off. Considering a stock C6 with 340 RWHP doesn't ET mid/high 11s and trap 120 MPH like a 440 RWHP pullied Cobra.

700 RWHP is impressive with a pulley and tune on the Shelby. It would be interesting to see what both cars do at the track.
