I'm Air Force SF... I know what I do and don't do. He's probably fresh outta tech school. Gonna be honest though. As SF, I do hate pretty much the rest of the Air Force. Mostly.

another scenario...there have been times that I have had someone tryin to race me in an obviously slower car then mine and I would only give it enough gas to keep my car right next to his just to **** with'em.

OP there has been a lot of doubt that it was even a 5.0. just to clarify are you 100% positive it wasnt a v6? its not the most rediculous claim I've ever heard but it is very very very doubtful considering all the things it would take to go wrong for the coyote...

Look, anything can happen on the street, here's my story.

I was out a few Saturday's ago in the 5.0, needed a few items from the store. I Pull up to a red light, along side of me pulls a late 90's, beat-up, dented, ram truck 1500.

Light turns green and I ease out first gear to 4k, getting ready to shift into second and I'm hearing all this noise, it's the truck, he's gunning it. I'm thinking "Oh no you're not" so I shift into second and matt the gas pedal. I look over and he's at my side door. My rear tires break traction as the the engine spins up, I'm loosing speed, getting sideways back and forth.

Fearing I was going to loose control on the damp cold street I let out and shift into third. The dude in the truck is now pulling on me. I regain control but shifting into 3rd dropped my RPMs way down.

Now I'm behind this guy trying to play catch up. Already humiliated, I noticed he was hauling a couch and love seat to boot. I let out completely and chalked it up as a total loss. Dazed and pissed I was wanting a rematch but there would be none and I knew it.

And thats how it would go if you were spinning in my opinion. I understand anything can happen on the street but the fact being op was spinning and still won has everyone saying bs

The Airforce is killing coyotes by day and keeping army rangers safe by night lol. OP everyone is just giving you a hard time because it is a very unlikely kill. Don't take it so hard to heart.

I did a post when I was used like a two dollar hoe after leaving the alignment shop. Had factory wheels on and took it bad. Got the Green Weenie all day and I know there are stories about the Shelby that was raped. Thanks for your service. I appreciate the flight information when leave theatre. Get some more peanuts on the next flight and make sure my 240 B is secured.

Learn to lighten up Guy, there are many of us that are military and we all know that each branch jokes it other. Its not the joke, it's who makes the joke that matters. Ill take jokes from anyone that has served, is serving, or signed up to serve. Last, you volunteered for whatever reason, that reason was never respect from others. If that's what your looking for you chose the wrong profession. Cops, firefighters, EMTs, military and many other professionals that save lives and protect people are all heroes, still there are many that care less about them until needed. Now I needed killed Coyote footage. You picked the right car to AIM HIGH on.

Thansk for posting that just as an example of what kind of things can occur on the street. It is very tempting to just call bs on this guy and dismiss the story but anything can happpen. We have all seen it one time or another. Should the Cobra have won, NO....but he did for whatever reason. To me, a win is a win and I do not care if "this" and "this" happened. I could care less. If there was money involved, he would have taken home the cash.

Now many will say that the 5.0 was not racing....don't know if this a valid excuse or not. You can tell if the other guy is really on just by seeing the front end lift and hearing the engine rpm come up..even through a closed wndow.

In all honesty, it sounds like to me, that the guy in the 5.0 either messed up a shift, blew the tires off or really had no idea on how to race. There are many people out there with performance cars that have no idea of what the street racing etiquette is and when the OP's Cobra took off on him, he was probably like WTF?????
Not uncommon at all.

Pull up to a stoplight... I look over as does the driver in the ss... Light turns green. I gun it as does he, neck and neck thru 2nd then heard a loud pop! I let off, I have no power steering, temp gauge running hot, brake pedal is as soft as a fat chick with a Krispy Kreme doughnut.... Nurse it back home... Popped the hood... ENTIRE belt is shredded!!! Not just broke... Missing and looked like it went thru a cheese grater.

Car has about 144,xxx on the chassis, there is a lot of vibration going on thru out the car. 1st isn't so bad neither is 2nd but once I get into 3rd & 4th. That's where I have a massage chair ride. The dashboard vibrates like crazy. Possible cause? Bad motor mounts? If so how hard to replace?

Today I made a couple of calls to get a quote on 4:10's and a track loc rebuild, despite me supplying pinion & gears, install kit... And the M-4700-C rebuild kit. The guy I talked to quoted me 975 for the whole shabang. Does that sound about right for this typical of a job? Any suggestions on whom I should look to for doing this type job? All suggestions welcomed. Located in the solano area.

Not technically a newb into the game. But definitely a newb to sn95 game. Trying to get a count of how many folks out there that are located in the NorCal area! Sooner or later would like to meet up and maybe shot the wind.

So, let me get this straight....i got smoked by a SUV, and then, your car has 144k miles and is falling apart, but you beat a 412hp new car. spinning.

Seriously man. I'm thinking you have an instant credibility issue here. lol.

and this:::

Op? Sorry stupid question. Pretty much stock 98 cobra, just picked it up. Only thin it has is the k&n cone filter. And mgw short shifter

i will be as kind as possible......i cannot race anything with the tires i have on the car now in cold weather. they behave like teflon and are plain nasty below 35 degrees. so it could happen. Run above 75 degrees and its impossible for you to win against one like mine.
