When buying parts, do you finance?

Just curious to see how many people finance their parts for their toy.

I'm personally running into the delima of really wanting a supercharger and just using my credit card. When I really should/would like to pay for it directly out of my checking account. Problem is I don't have all the funds to cover the supercharger, and I'm tempted to just put it all on the credit card.

Is there something wrong with me? :??:

I only do it when I know it will be paid off in 1-2 months. A 6,000 blower will end up costing 7500 if you take your time paying it off

Nope. Cash everything for the parts. Don't wanna run the risk of something happening to the car, and now I have a $7K credit card bill... yaaaa... no thanks... I prefer to use my credit cards in emergency situations only

If u find a place that takes Bill Me Later, they usually do 6 months no interest. Then u can pay it off by then. Im thinking about sling that for a Roush im about to buy. I wont get my severance from the job im leaving for about a month and I can go ahead and buy now and pay off when it hits the bank acct!! Nothing like getting about 6 months pay and walking right into a new job! !

Use a card with 0% intro rate and good rewards, buy the blower on it to get the rewards and then pay it off before hitting any finance charges.

Nothing wrong with you. We all want stuff that we don't have and especially when we don't have the money... I have a build list and then I prioritize my cash on hand which is separate from my household or business budget it is the extra I work for to do my build. Then I pick up things along the way. I use a rewards card but have the cash for the purchase ready and pay the bill when do. I'm 36 years old and have been down the road of buying stuff before I could afford them when I was in my early 20's which was a disaster! Just recently when Sandy hit the NE my business was closed for two weeks and had no income but since I saved I had a reserve absorbed the hit then came back and the best December in my 7 years!

did my tsw valencia's with nitto's thru bill me later. 6 months no interest..
so you can pay what ever you want for 6 months.
your limit is basically based from your credit. so good credit you can get that blower.

I have been buying used parts with cash. I use a 0% credit card that pays me back in rewards I then pay it off every month. If I don't have enough cash at the end of the month I don't buy it. It's amazing out quick the rewards rack up and every month I piece together the list if next mods. I pay off the credit card to keep the credit utilization down to maintain great credit. It's fun filling up a room with parts then putting them all on!

I just did it for my blower kit. 12 months 0% interest if paid off in 1 year. Cant beat that if you dont have the cash and can pay it off in time. Just ordered it in Dec from tps motorsports. They are still running that deal if you got good credit

I buy all my parts with my credit card, but not until I have the whole amount in my checking account. That way I can pay it completely off when the next bill comes. At the most I'll drag it out 2-3 payments (haven't bought anything that expensive for this car yet tho lol). That way I'm getting my parts and building my credit at the same time

cash here for all my purchases, don't think its wise to have a car payment and CC or a loan for parts on a car.

I put all my expenses on my credit card because I get a percentage back, but I pay it off every month and have never paid a cent in interest. My car is still financed and it does make me a little pissed at myself that I keep spending money on mods while still owing on the car, but I justify it to myself because I still contribute to my savings every month. I just absolutely hate being in debt even if it's only the car payment. I originally told myself that I wouldn't mod until it was paid off... that lasted about a month. I just couldn't resist!

I'm wondering the same thing about all these guys buying blowers and turbo's like money is coming out of the kitchen sink. If i don't have the extra money in my account, nothing gets bought. I still manage to get a lot of things for my car, but sometimes break my plans down in steps depending on how much extra money comes in which isn't much lately.
