I have a question... if someone with a warranty installs this... and the engine fails... i would imagine Ford would say this may have caused it since it effects cooling... correct?

Affects* and if it's under warranty then there is no reason to buy this mod.

We respect your opinion but having a vehicle down for 2-3 weeks while a ford warranty rep decides to replace an engine is good enough reason for most. Yes, Ford may warranty it, the key is to never let it get to that.

Understandable, but would you want risk voiding the warranty?

If you do mod the vehicle O/R X-pipe, larger diameter intake, anything that requires a tune, you've effectively given them a reason to cancel the warranty anyways. So this part would very much be worth the risk.

However, with a completely stock vehicle that's well within warranty I'm not sure I would risk voiding the warranty. Say there was a defective internal part that nothing to do with #8 go out. Now you may be up the creek.

Does that make sense? Maybe I'm not seeing it in the right way?

Either way, I'm not trying to dissuade potential buyers, just giving my layman's opinion on whether it would be worth it for someone who was still under warranty. Sorry if it came across as a bash, it wasn't meant to be.

Completely understood! The reality is a dealer can void a warranty for any reason they choose.

My advise is if you have a big issue maybe pull the cooling kit and put 2 new plugs in then bring the car to Ford. If you flashed the computer for other mods then you S O L as they will pick up on that right away.

Well,

I've pulled the trigger. Ordered and it arrived two days later. I probably won't have it in for a week or two but once I do I'll let everyone know how the install went and what my temps are doing. I'm going to try to do it with the motor in with someone who knows what they are doing. Want to be ready before we hit the AZ heat this summer.

Just got my shorblock installed that I had built by BBR and shipped to me over here in Germany. BBR recommended this cooling mod since I have a blower setup. Literally took me no time at all to install. And once I got this installed I noticed that my ECT's have dropped a noticeable amount from my Aeroforce gauge by almost 10 degrees in traffic and noticed on my instrument cluster as well that it's cooler. This a great way to keep the engine cooler for less detonation and I would recommend this for any new Coyote 5.0's for some good insurance for your investment. Thanks BBR and MMR.

I agree, When I get my Boss Intake installed I definitely will be adding this...Just for piece of mind if anything.....

So with this and a tune eliminating that lean condition you would pretty much never need to worry about that pesky number eight again right?

Is this a reasonable mod for a roadrunner motor? I had the head cooling mod on my Terminator and was pleased with it. I am not running boost on my Boss, only an intake, email tune and magnaflow comp catback...is there really a need for this at this time?
