My buddy and I went for a cruise in his supra(BIG single) and between trans temp, heat we pulled over and popped the hood, just the latch to vent it. A guy came over and asked if we could open it so we did. Mind you this is a 91mm turbo car and this guy asked "you thinking about upgrading from the twins? My buddy did".....

Honestly, aside from the 137K response, I don't see a problem with what he did. I know that there are times where the last thing I want is to be held up by someone who likes my car and wants to "chat". Yes, Im flattered that you like my car, but Im not at a car show, I've got better and more important things to do.
maybe if you pulled up in another vette this guy might have been different. I say might have only because of the response about the amount paid. I know most mustang guys wont have any issues when I ask them about theirs when I am in my mustang. Tbird guys are the same way (they just get bent because my tbird is not restored

I've been pretty lucky, and only ran into a few guys like that. I usually just assume they are in a hurry to do something, or like others have said really aren't car people. I know personally whenever somebody asks me about about my car, I am more than happy to talk about it simply because it's my baby and I'm proud of it. They probably regret asking me about it as I go on and on lol.

Z06 doesn't specifically let you know what model Vette Z06 you're talking about. It could be a C5Z for all anyone else knows. Saying C6Z lets you know specifically that you're talking about a C6 Z06.

Because not everyone buys a car to bang dicks with other dudes. Seriously, just because someone owns a car you like does not mean that they feel the same way about it or belong to car forums to talk about it. Some people buy cars because they are status symbols and that's about it.
I love talking cars, but I honestly didn't know shit about my car when I fist got it. Some guy came up to me and asked so many questions about it my first meet. I felt like a dumbass lol. So if somebody likes cars and just doesn't know a lot, I'm more forgiving towards them. The people I can't stand are the ones that LIE about their cars. But I love it when random people give me the thumbs up or compliment the car. Makes all the bloody knuckles worth it. Had an older guy ask me if mine was a Saleen a couple days back. I was in a hurry, but stopped and explained that it's just a GT and I ha done some work to it. To his defense I do ave a saleen grille lol

I remember I went to another forums meet (mustang/cobra forum). At the time I had my terminator and to make a long story short, they all thought they were gods gift to the hobby. Always having a smart ass answer, talking down to other people, etc. That was probably one of the worst outings i've been to.

I like how the DB op went up to a random guy, who may have had a bad day and was just trying to get in the store and out and you started pestering him about how much he paid for his car and then when the guy doesn't chat you up and have the conversation you were personally looking for then it bothers you so much that you go online and talk about how he's a dick and how stupid he is for buying his car?
