I just got back from Target and while I was up there I saw a c6z pull up while I was walking in. I figured I'd stop and talk for a second because I love me a z06 haha. The guy wouldn't give me the time of day it seemed like. All he had was snappy one-word answers. Seriously, this guy was an ass. After almost giving up I asked him "how much did you give for it if you don't mind me asking? I'm in the market for one." (I know I'm not but this was for shitsngigs)

His answer? 137k off the lot brand new.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I busted out laughing and said I hope you're BSing because if not you got bent over. I told him to have a nice day then went on my way.

This isn't the first time I've dealt with fools like this. After chatting for a few minutes, I asked a guy driving a stock c5 vette if he wanted to run em for fun and he said I wasn't worth his time because I only have a 4.6. I had another guy driving a G8 tell me to get a real car when he saw my Mach 1 at a car show, too. What the hell is up with people these days?

I totally agree, the scene is filled with way to many assholes with their pants around their ankles and ruler in hand. Especially around my age group (early-mid twenties), people are so immature and insecure they act a fool. That's why i really only stick to forum meets these days. But even older guys i've seen driving around acting as if everyone else on the road is just an obstacle. Its like relax toretto, you're in a boxster, you are not gods gift to man. But its always a good feeling knowing I'm half their age, twice as fast, and three times more respectful.

I remember at the last meet i went too that wasnt an svtp group i tried to talk to this kid about his 2013 and he was a total ********** about it. I say "hey is that your '13 gt500?" and his answer is "ya il let you piss on that piece of shit for 20 bucks" and immediately it was like wow i regret ever having you open your meat holster :nonono:. I ended up just trolling him in circles in front of all his friends, but i should have taken him up on his offer lol. I cant stand car owners in my age group, much less a ton of us at a large meet.

Some people are just pricks. He probably has a shitty life with a daughter doing porn, a son doing drugs, and a wife doing every guy in the neighborhood....

I don't understand that at all. When I had my C5Z I had people literally follow me to ask me questions. I was always glad to give them a straight answer and "talk shop". It makes me proud to have people ask about my toys. Obviously that guy was one of "Those Vette guys" I heard so much about.

sounds like he wasn't a "car guy". he was probably just one of those rich guys that bought one to look cool, doesn't know a thing about it, and thought he'd talk down to you, so you'd go away as he had better things to do.

I don't think it has so much to do with "car guys" or "vette owners", as it just sounds like the guy was just a jerk in general.

real car guys don't mind talking shop.

I was the same way. My Mach 1 wasn't anything crazy but it was always clean and the AB paint and shaker definitely made it stand out. Whenever people wanted to talk, I had no problem! Hell, it always made my day even when the person at the drive through window said "nice car." Makes all that blood, sweat, tears, and elbow grease worth it. But I'm sure y'all can all agree that there's nothing quite like being out somewhere and is into cars just as much as you are and wants to just relax and talk about them.

I had a guy approach me one day and we ended up talking for about an hour. We exchanged numbers and come to find out he just lives a few streets down from me! Now I'm helping him restore his firebird.

But y'all hit the nail on the head. It's a sign of the times. Nobody has time for anybody else but themselves and most people frankly couldn't give two s***s about anybody else but them. It's a real shame. :nonono:

That does make sense. He didn't come off as a rich snob and when I mentioned that I was on the lookout for a 2003-2004 cobra he said he had some at his shop. So I'm guessing by that answer he's a mechanic.

I know a guy like that too. There's a lot like that guy on here too. Can't have a normal conversation with these people. Me? I don't care if you drive a scooter. I'll stop and talk to you and complement your ride.

Kind of sad but I almost avoid talking to people about my cars. I especially hate when people ask how much power it makes and when I tell them they seem to think im lying. People generally expect anything making over 600 RWHP to sound like a top fuel dragster and I always get the "you cant take it out of second gear" comments.
