I got it sitting in a bag of rice, I'll give it a few days. Worst case is I'll change back to my i4. Sucks I paid over $500 for it, its the 64gb.

The purpose of my post is that apple will absolutely know that it was drenched in water. They have indicators for that exact reason.

FlahDah man.
I ran my iphone 5 through the wash. It had the otter defender cover on it, and when I call it, it vibrates but the screen is black. I can't power it down because there's no screen. Is there any hope for it!

Just buy a new one and chalk it up to not paying attention. It is your fault and you should pay. Did you have washer insurance or the "not so smart" coverage? If not, it is on you.

And this is why I use a waterproof phone. I've had people question my choice not to have an Iphone. When it can be underwater without damage I'll buy one.

Apple techs can be really nice. There are water indicators inside of every phone. High humidity can set them off.

Go to a store and plead your case. If it got wet then it's a ticking time bomb for completely breaking at some point.

It might depend on the Apple Store you visit. I can tell you, though, that ours in Hartford isn't flexible with water damage. I was there recently and a woman brought her daughter's iPhone for a replacement or repair. The Apple rep checked the water indicators right away and found they had changed color, indicating water damage had occurred. He told her she would have to buy a new phone.

I hope the OP can get some remedy. Otherwise it's going to be expensive to replace it, unless he is eligible for an upgrade. The iPhone 5 is selling for around $500.00 on eBay. That will drop a bit when the 5S is launched.

If you know how to remove small screwes and unpin cables you can fix a cracked screen for 20-30$. It just involves about 40 minutes and patience. Actually, I have someone coming over tonight and I am replacing the screen and back on her 4S.

This is why I like the Best Buy protection. You can pay a one time fee of $180 and it can cover you on just about anything (except for lost/stolen). Also, you have unlimited replacements.

Squaretrade has good warranties too. I usually decline store warranties and buy one from them. Cheaper and most of the time better.

Square trade is awesome.. I had used their accidental damage protection before.. No fuss claim..
