Is a low 11 second Mustang considered fast anymore?

Yeah it is...everywhere but the internet.

+1

I can't believe some of the street cars & speeds people consider slow. I guess everyone is too jaded by the rising walls of horsepower.

Damn Terminators are cool! They sure changed what fast was and how easy it was to have an 11 sec street car.

Well apparently a Ford GT trapping 151 and running a 9.3 is considered slow by some on here, I'd love to know what they have that is faster.

As said before, it's all relative. A low 11 second anything is pretty quick however you look at it, to most people.

Here in Tucson, a low 11 sec car will beat probably 99% of the local car scene. There's a few 'big boys' around who will hurt your feelings, but I know them all and could count them on one hand lol.

I think its fast. I know a few people in my area who have gutted/cage cars and barely crack 10s. One even ran an 11.3 I believe. Im hoping to get 11s with my cammed car in the spring and Ill be happy.

Like others have said people can have a 500 hp car and run 12s because they cant drive it.

I think it is still fast although I believe it is much more common these days due to how easily it can be done with the new generation of cars.

I'm from the fox body days and getting in the 12s was a major accomplishment in that most cases it took gears h/c/i and slicks to do it consistantly at full weight. 11s was nearly unheard of unless it was on the bottle or stroked.

I do notice these days that these newer cars trap WAY higher with a slower ET compared to what we were doing 15 years ago. I remember running 11.90s at only 112mph way back.

I would say it is pretty quick. Just because cars are getting down into the 8's and 9's doesn't mean low 11's isn't still quick.

My elevation takes at least a second off everyones track times. DA is usually 7,000-8,000ft. If I see a street car hit an 11 second pass, it is really impressive. We've got plenty of fast cars, that run 12-13 second passes or worse. And lots of high hp cars that can't put down the power, launch to save their life, or nail any gears.

IMO an 11sec street car is fast. We're at 6000' DA here typically. It takes some power to run 11s.

I'd say an 11 second or low 11 second car is pretty fast. Like other haves said its going to beat 99% of other cars out on the road. You're going to be faster or pretty close to many cars that are in the 6 figures so that is always comforting.

a car that has actually gone low 11's is a fast car
a car that is supposed to go 11's or has the power to go 11's is not that fast

I'll answer this in two ways. lol

1) Yes, it's pretty fast driving around on the street around non-hobby people.

2) However, when it comes down to going to GTG's/meets, it depends on where you live. Here in Texas, an 11 second Stang isn't even remotely competitive with the "fast" crowd. Hell, an 11 second Stang can't even be a camera car for the "fast" cars to film them racing. lol.

Here in Texas, when you go to gtg's and meets, if you aren't making 900rw+ you don't have a chance. The damn ricers here make good power too. lol.

Any newer 2005+ car is going to take a lot of money to run 900+ horsepower. So I guess in TX - there are a lot of rich folks. Either that or people driving old foxbody cars with a 10-15 in it.
