Again retarded.
Actually I doubt your car even puts out 410hp even with stickers and a K&N.

It's a SLS AMG that puts outs over 650hp @ $200,000+.

A stock V will rape a stock 5.0 period, and a 2013 GT500 is a lot more money than a used V like the OP was talking about.

And I'd bet a 1st Gen V would probably rape your particular Cobra.

Top speed of a V is 190mph+

You willing to back that up on @ Pittsburgh Raceway Park. I mean you seem pretty confident in your ability to predict what my car has before reading any of my threads lol.

Oh yeah because a 65k GT500 is cheaper than a "USED" 2012 cts-v or better. I forgot your a mind reader and a teach Economics in a respectable college. Where the hell do you get your numbers from? Oh a 1st gen V? the N/A LS turds that cant keep their diffs in to save a life? Those ones? Lol your fun but all seriousness the GT500 is cheaper used, than a CTS-V with more bang for your buck, OR you can even get one new for what you'll be paying for a used CTS-V since the desirable year is "12++ and depreciate little.

Oh by the way i went on autotrader, for the record the depreciation for them is practically the same!! 2012-2013 USED they are still both between 50-65k and both has astronomical prices new for 90k

So please tell me how your going to sit here and say the cadillac is more affordable and is more powerful when you can get the GT500 for same price, OR EVEN CHEAPER

Unless you need a 4dr, stick with the GT and pay it off.

Chasing payments when you can be socking away funds for investments is ftl. I regret many vehicle decisions in my time, that money could have been used for much better things.

Good point not sure I need 4drs just thinking about it, might just be nice to have. Part of me thinks I need a more grown up car not that I could really articulate why that is. Fortunately I dont have any payments on my car so its not really a problem.

I must admit like another poster Im a little worried that i would want to go right back to a mustang. I have had three of them and they are the only cars I have ever had. The Gm thing should not be a big deal I dont think, I will always be a ford fan but I really care more that the car is quality, and fun. thanks for all the replies.

You don't have a payment so stick with what you have. That is the best choice

A CTS-V doesn't have merge on the highway kind of power? Wtf? You're seriously taking the opinion of someone who thinks that?

Don't know why I even pay attention to your posts but you don't know much about either car. 2009+ are the desirable ctsv's, and they are in the low 40's for a low mileage one.

I also owned a '13 gt500, but mine turned out to be a lemon. My ctsv handled better, braked better, and felt lighter. The gt500 was obviously faster, but whatever. The caddy is a daily driver for me, something I can take the kids in. And it is a fantastic car for gm. One of the best they've put out in a while

I feel guilty to say i do like the CTS-V. They suffer from the normal GM bugs. Its a cool car if you want to turn a head or two but the weight really does hurt it. If your spending that much you will be far happier in a "13 GT500. Just because it has 560bhp doesnt mean its going to run 11s at the track all day. If your looking for a luxury car with Get up and go, The cts-v sounds like a match. If you want that merge on a highway kind of power, look elsewhere.

Some of the ignorance about cars in general on this site is appauling at times. A stock 09+ V will run in the 12.5 or better range at 116-118. With a pulley, intake and tune they are well into the 11's. With a set of injectors and E85 they will approach 10's and put out 625-650rwhp. Yup pretty slow for a 4dr luxury sedan. :rollseyes

OP, I to have considered a CTS-V, but in the wagon form. I have 2 young daughters so I need a little more room.

Plus I think a cam'd out dropped wagon at a light would suprise a lot of people.

^This! Those wagons flat out rock! Only thing better would be an early nova with an ls.

Big brother had a CTS-V. They are fast for sure. Very comparable to the 11-12 GT500's. BUT.. as he put it, it's a couch that can close in on 200mph. He drove my Shelby and promptly sold his V for an 11' GT500. It wasn't that he disliked his V, it was the lack of driver input you need to drive a V fast. The car is a Cadi after all and pretty much drives itself whereas the GT500, you've gotta be a bit more aware of what your doing. The V is not a bad choice though...Great car.

Another genius post from this guy...

1) newer CTS-V's have supercharged LSA engines making 556hp. I'm pretty sure they can merge onto the highway just fine.
2) it's a luxury sports car with a high HP engine. Do you expect it to be as light as a vette or lamborghini?
3) he's asking about 4 door cars. Not mustangs. Good job. I'm sure you know what will make him happy.
4) CTS-V's "can run 11's all day" with a good driver stock.

That's a cool story bro. I don't think anyone is saying that your irreverent car you brought into this thread shouldn't be able to beat a V. If this thread was '13 GT500 vs CTS-V, then it's fine. But it's not.

OP, basic bolt-ons will go a long way with them. A new era CAI and tune can bring you over 500rwhp. Ported blower, pulley, and full bolt-ons should easily bring you somewhat close to 600rwhp. Cam, heads, and E85 on top of that should bring you closer to 700rwhp.

I have no experience with one, and am a Ford fan, but with that said from everything I've seen the Gen2 CTS-V's seem to be one of those cars that are just over-achievers. Kind of like a new 5.0. They just perform better than what you think they would. Especially for such a big car.

IDK for a fact, but going off just watching YouTube videos it always seems like the supposedly less powerful LSA in the CTS-V's seem to perform better than the LSA in the ZL1's that's suppose to have another 20-30(whatever it is) HP.

I'd rock a CTS-V if I wanted a car that met its criteria, and money wasn't an issue. I'd probably rather have a AMG or a Audi RS6, but again I have a natural bias against GM products so I don't want to say that I think the CTS-V is any less of a car. In fact I wish Ford would try and compete in that class with Lincoln, but they don't. The CTS-V is a very cool and legit performance luxury car IMO.

My head hurts.

CTS-V
Hell yes if you need or want 4-doors.

I love these responses,

"I'm thinking of getting a CTS-V"

No man, get a GT500, it is faster in the 1/4.

"Boy, that's the advice I needed, Thanks"

The OP never asked about 1/4 mile times, merging speeds or anything else about another mustang that I saw.
And some of the answers about car stats, Jesus help me please.
