Danes are amazing dogs. I have had three over the years. I can't bring myself to get another since 6.5 years old was the longest any of the three lived. Very sad.

Happy Birthday Mr. Gunner.

Gunner officially turns 1 year old today and we could not have asked for a better "best friend" and companion.

Here is Gunner watching over his bestest buddy, our Grandson AJ.

Great looking dog - unfortunately as others have said - they just don't live very long :( Had an Uncle that had one. He was huge even by Great Dane standards and died around 5-6.

Happy Birthday Gunner!!! I got my first dane on Christmas this past year. Can honestly say I've never been this excited to come home from work like I am now. He's only 6 months and 75lbs of fur. And Milo is his name-o lol

The day I picked him out:

How much does Gunner weigh? My dane Ellie turns 5 in July.

He is holding at about 120 lbs.

We regulate how much food he is getting so he does not put on too much weight.

I think he would eat 24/7 if we allowed it to happen, especially the cat's food, that is his favorite.:rollseyes

My big boy just turned 2 also. He's the most hyperactive Great Dane I've ever seen. He's also a lap dog, not like any other dog though.

We thought it was strange how much energy Gunner had.

When we got him, we were under the impression Danes were supposed to be couch potatoes.

The more walks you took Gunner on and the more you ran him, the more wound up he got.

There is nothing better then having a 100 lb.+ small horse, running Zoomies throughout the house.

But, we are starting to notice that he is slowing down a little.

He finally sleeps in a little in the morning and in the evenings he crashes on the couch.
